AF late, no tests but lh is only slightly raised

Hi everyone, my AF is a day late but I don’t have any tests. I’ve had so many negative tests I told myself I wasn’t buying anymore and due to start IVF this month anyway.
I did an LH test and there is a slight rise but defo not a dye stealer. It would be positive if I was pregnant right?

I know it sounds pathetic but I am so reluctant to give in and buy a test just to see that bfn glaring back at me because I KNOW it’s just my body playing cruel tricks lol.

My question is, my LH would be really positive if I was pregnant wouldn’t it? 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’d rather hear it from someone here than admit I have hope and go and buy a test 😫

Lh can also be raised just before your period.
I know how cruel seeing the bfn is but the limbo of not knowing is even worse for me.
Its up to you if you buy a test or not, I couldn't deal with the thought of not knowing though.

Hi @pinkglitter12 yeh I know but I wouldn’t say this is a peak. It’s just a slight rise. I don’t really know what’s normal for me as I don’t tend to test lh before my period normally.
I am pretty sure it would be a blazing positive if I was pregnant not just a bit darker than normal. Just wanted someone to confirm this to ease the 1% of doubt in my mind 😂 and stop me heading out and wasting money on a test

It’s crazy isn’t it how much emotion comes with just peeing on a stick. I’ve done it so many times and never seen a bfp so I know I’m not pregnant! There’s just always that little bit of hope but I’m not doing it to myself this time. AF is just being a bitch and coming late so IVF is delayed 😂

Definitely don’t buy

wait at least a few days and then test. 3 days minimum

What I needed to hear thank you ☺️ I think when you’re surrounded by people who aren’t TTC or they have never suffered with infertility they like to push you towards being optimistic and say things like “omg you should do a test you never know!” No fault of their own and only meant with good intentions I know, but being realistic is less painful in the long run!

Tests are usually like 99.9% accurate when your period is late. So most likely AF just late this month.

EmPeEf · 19/07/2025 17:48

Be strong and hold out for a couple more days like people say. Crossing fingers for you x

Hi @Outside9I haven’t taken a test. Or do you mean my ovulation test would have been a strong positive?

When I was pregnant with a healthy pregnancy, my lh was super low and faint. My hcg was through the roof. So no, ovulation stick wouldn’t be positive if you are pregnant. That happens quite rarely actually.

Thank you that pretty much answers my question ☺️ not to worry now though as AF has arrived. So thank you to everyone who convinced me to not go and buy tests as I very nearly caved !
