oh, so many crappy unlucky things... but to sum up basically she's been on the IVF waiting list for TWO and A HALF sodding years, because of various things like the list getting longer and not being informed etc etc etc. so she was being told for over a year 'oh yes, you're at the top of the list, next months for you etc etc'... pretty cruel stuff really. tbh i think that if she and her dh had known at the outset it was going to take this long they'd have found the cash a long time ago.

anyway, i need your help, please.
she was supposed to be getting treatment this month and was all mentally psyched up for it, but it's been delayed AGAIN and she's a bit low.

she and i were talking about acupuncture to try to help her with the treatment and general wellbeing, but she's moved to London relatively recently and would be more confident if she had a recommendation. added to which, she works long hours so getting to an appointment is tricky.

sooooo, does anyone have any thoughts about acupuncture and IVF? did any of you do it?

and, do any of you know a good 'puncturist who either operates out of waterloo or west hampstead, as she works in one and lives in the other?

i don't visit this board often, but i'm sure you lot know what you are doing when it comes to offering support to someone who's been through the mill on this... any thoughts gratefully appreciated, thanks.

Hi, my London geography is a bit vague, but I used this guy, Andrew Flower, when I was going through IVF, he has a clinic in Brighton and one in London, Primrose Hill - so I dunno if its anywhere near your friend.

Andrew Flower
The White Crane Healing Centre

He is the most wonderful man, really kind and supportive, he has a specialism in fertility issues and I got pregnant on my first IVF cycle. He also helped a friend of mine who was perimenopausal - she too got pregnant on her 1st ivf cycle. He is fab, I cannot recommend him too highly. Obviously there are no guarantees but I found him such a support during a difficult time. AND there are studies to show that acupucture does help with ivf success rates.

Best wishes to your friend.

My friend recommends the Asante School of Medicine in Archway (near Whittington Hosp)

It's a place where people learn acupuncture and you can have a session for a tenner.
