Nightmare with Sainsbury’s pink dye tests

Hi all. Just posting as frustrated really. I’m 42 and our TTC journey came to an end after 10 years of everything going wrong (baby loss, still birth, failed IVF etc) we adopted a little to complete our family.

however you never really give up, do you? Anyway, I’m about 9 dpo and had a ‘feeling’ so bought a couple of Sainsbury’s tests.

had the shock of my life when the first one came back ‘positive’. Was in such shock I immediately took the other one (new, not concentrated urine) and it’s completely blank.

ive now read so many bad reviews about the sainsburys tests im assuming the first was a false positive but how can they be this bad?? Pic to see comparison. The ‘positive’ line came up right away in looks very pink in real life.

just posting to vent really!!

thanks x

Why don’t you buy another brand then?

I’ve ordered some first response for the morning but just so frustrated with these. I’ve been searching these threads for others with similar experience and wanted to share. More out of frustration really!

The “positive” is evap

It needs to be a solid line no matter how faint

Firstsipofcoffee · 01/07/2025 15:01

I afraid i don’t think you’re pregnant, neither of those tests are positive e

both test and control lines fade towards the top, for sure. But I don’t think it’s an evap as it came up straight away. After years of taking many tests (though not in the last couple of years) any evaps I have had have come up as a result of test strip drying and been super faint.

not saying I think this is positive - I don’t - I just think it’s wild that 2 tests in the same box can be so inconsistent.

positive need to be a solid line
They can be very very faint
but line must be solid

Itchytoe · 02/07/2025 18:55

Any joy op? The positive looked like an evap to me
