My understanding is as long as the other parameters are ok, it’s not the end of the world, and that it can vary quite a bit between tests?

I can’t seem to find any evidenced treatment though that improves morphology (unlike things that improve motility/count etc)

It makes things more challenging but all you can do is focus on the lifestyle choices to better your chances.

It's certainly not impossible to conceive.

My partner has 2% morphology but 185 million sperm count and 60% motility. Our fertility consultant said she had no concerns about it as his sperm count is so high so I would say it depends on the other factors. He has had 3 previous pregnancies. We are 7 months in trying to conceive and no luck yet but not worried that this is a factor personally.

My partner had 2% morphology and I’m currently pregnant.

Lifestyle factors and supplements can really help. I also read a study that found ‘refreshing’ the sperm regularly will reduce the count but increase the morphology percentage.

I asked DH to have sex with me multiple times on the day of ovulation as his count was always pretty high. This worked for me both cycles we did it after many months of no success, although first time ended in a loss.

Thanks all! His count isn’t quite as high as that @p0ppyx but he calculated how much he must have and with his count it’s still more than someone would have with 4% at the cut off for normal count (20 mil I think) so hopefully that means there’s enough!

good idea @LauraP94 on frequency, I’ll suggest that ☺️ we did DTD twice actually the day before ovulation this cycle who maybe that’ll have helped!

@p0ppyx Hey! I hope you don’t mind me asking, but you mentioned your partner has a sperm
count of 185 million sperm and that being considered really high, was that a total count or per ml? Reason I am asking is that my DP just had a S.A. and his count per ml was 35 million but he produced 4ml so his count would have been 140 million? He had 5% morphology and 63% progressive motility. My doctor didn’t even say anything to us about it, she just said it was fine. I’m assuming it is good?

Hey. It was 185mil per ml, we were told anything over 15mil per ml is considered normal so 35mil is over that and the other factors are in the normal ranges too so I would think you’re all good :)

Thisisouryear2025 · 07/06/2025 11:31

@p0ppyx Ok that makes sense!! I was not considering 35 mil per ml to be that high but just normal levels. Thanks for clarifying. With that count I doubt you need to worry there is so many there!!

Hello,

Thought I’d chime in. My husband had low counts on all 3 parameters a few years ago…. He had a varicoele which he had removed. This improved his results regarding motility and count however we were disappointed to see that his morphology didn’t improve. This was still at 1%.

His urologist wasn’t worried as they said morphology is the least concerning parameter. This was the beginning of October. My husband has been taking Proxeed since then and even though I am SO early and have just found out… I am indeed pregnant!

His report:
57.6 million count
36.4 progressive motility
1% morphology

3 months after this report we have conceived!!

Proxeed must have helped us, who knows.

Keep the faith. Apparently with morphology they take the tiniest little sample of sperm.

Also, what we did differently this month was BD 3 days in a row right around ovulation. Day before, day of and day after. Usually, we did it every other day because I read that sperm replenish well after a day off. Well, this time we ignored that advice, went fully in 3 days straight and voila!!!
