7 days of nausea no bfp

Day 7 of quite extreme nausea. I have lost 10 pounds (not complaining about that part!)

The only time I have ever felt like this before, I was pregnant with my 2nd baby. I have tested this morning and nothing, not even a hint of a line.

We aren't trying for a baby, so I want to know at what point I can definitively put a line under it and say definitely not preggo.

I have not had a period since my last baby was born over a year ago as been on the mini pill. I feel like I've been taking it well but we have had a disruptive couple of months so can't be 100% sure I haven't missed any.

Sometimes I get random periods of nausea
they pass
definitely not pregnant!

if the tests are a definitive no at this point, then very very unlikely to be pregnant - and no doubt your focus on it is intensifying the nausea a bit!

it’ll pass

Come again
you’ve lost 10 pounds in 7 days?

GP op. GP

Yes, but I am overweight so I didn't think that was too extreme. It's just cos I'm eating bare minimum!

Does that seem a lot? Oh gosh.

Yes op it’s a lot
how overweight?
any weight - that would be a material weight loss

Sounds more like a bug or something if test negative and nauseous for that long and lost weight. I’d be tempted to speak to gp as that is quite a weight loss over a week. If pregnancy symptoms are noticeable and due to pregnancy then you’d have a positive test, unless it’s bad PMS (I don’t get pms but I think that can cause nausea as it’s due to progesterone?)

Yes, definitely worth getting checked at a doctors surgery. They can do some bloods and check for pregnancy alongside making sure nothing else is going on. They always want to know if you lose a lot of weight unintentionally. Crossing fingers for you.

Thanks all. I have filled out the online form for my surgery, will see what they say.

I was absolutely convinced I must be pregnant as same symptoms as last pregnancy but it's time to check what else might be going on now.

Keep us updated op! But I wouldn’t worry
negative test plus you’re on contraception plus still not periods yet = unlikely

Update: doctor saw me last night. Tested for pregnancy, negative. +1 protein in urine but doesn't think that's a concern.

She has prescribed anti sickness medicine to try for a couple of days to see if it will reset everything as could be a cycle of not eating and worrying that's making it worse.

If there's no improvement will do blood tests in few days.

She has also advised to do a pregnancy test every couple of days for next week just to rule it out as said it could just be too early to test.

Feel rough this morning and slight headache but hopefully will start to feel better soon.
