As suggested, because so many of us on the other thread, shall we have a little roll call?

So sorry to hear the bad news from some - sending lots of love!

Congrats to those with good news!

I have a question for those more knowledgable than me - if I get a line at 10 dpo does that make it pretty likely I’m pregnant or could it still be a chemical?

@ec2808 fingers crossed for you! Do you have a frer you can use to double check? The cheapie tests drive me crazy because atleast with frers you know the faintest line is accurate! But then I can't use a frer 4 times a day 🤣

Kayleaaa · 12/05/2025 12:35

@flyhighsky72 I imagine a line is a pregnancy and only a chemical if it then disappears and you start bleeding? I think atleast!

FlyHighSky72 · 12/05/2025 12:36

Thanks @Kayleaaa

Ec2808 · 12/05/2025 12:36

@FlyHighSky72 I'm not sure about this..I got mine very late with my chemical at 14 or 15dpo and it never got darker...for me a line at 10dpo indicates implantation in the 6-9dpo window which statistically is proven for more healthy viable pregnancies but i'm not a doctor just what i have read 😊

Ec2808 · 12/05/2025 12:38

@Kayleaaa I've been trying so hard to get some but we cant get them in Luxembourg..have cheapie premom ones arriving today was using really cheap 4 days sooner ones from action because my order decided to be late and arrive today instead of saturday 😑have two clearblue digitals but will only use them once i get a convincing line...

FlyHighSky72 · 12/05/2025 12:39

Thanks @Ec2808just trying to work out how to feel if I even get a line on Thursday!!

Ec2808 · 12/05/2025 12:42

@FlyHighSky72 soo sorry about this..if you need to talk about it feel free to say!I went thrrough the axact same in march 😔i'm also going crazy because had a line at 6dpo probably a nasty indent or whatever...and shadows since yester again...just want to know already 😔

FlyHighSky72 · 12/05/2025 12:48

Thanks @Ec2808i just really want it to be positive (obviously, we all do!) keeping strong until Thursday but if I do get a line then I’m going to be worried about a chemical! Sorry you’ve had chemicals

Hey everyone!

Just an update, second chemical in a row confirmed unfortunately! This one has "luckily" been far less upsetting as I immediately suspected it based on my very light tests, and I managed to get into the GP the next day after my positive test to find out my HCG was only 9, so I didn't have too long to sit with any false hope! Second blood test on Friday (48 hours later) showed my HCG had dropped to 7, then I started bleeding pretty heavily yesterday (Sunday).

I've sent a message to my GP this morning to see if they'll do some blood tests to try to identify if these chemicals have just been bad luck or whether anything might be contributing to them. I'm hoping to request a full blood count, iron panel, thyroid check and day 21 progesterone (especially as I'm still breastfeeding my 15 month old, which I imagine could be impacting on my hormones). Any other suggestions are appreciated for what I could request/investigate privately!

I'm going to try again this month rather than take a break. Funnily enough, if I was successful this month and I ovulate when I expect to, my due date would be my son's second birthday!

I've not been keeping up with this thread as it's all been a bit depressing for me this weekend, but I hope there's lots more positive tests to come for everyone!

Really sorry to hear it’s a definite chemical. That’s good your gp did the hcg test! I didn’t realise they would - handy to know for the future ☺️

That’s what I’ve read too. You can implant at 12DPO but it’s less likely to be successful (but still possible) and a BFP would be a day or two after. So a BFP at 10/11/12DPO means implantation before 12DPO so all good!

Thanks @Ec2808you too!! I’ll let you all know on Thursday either way!!

Ec2808 · 12/05/2025 12:51

@FlyHighSky72 thank you soo much! Fingers crossed ❤

Kayleaaa · 12/05/2025 12:52

@flyhighsky72 oh no that breaks my heart! Please be excited but if you're worried can always wait until AF is due if you don't want to get your hopes up ❤️

FlyHighSky72 · 12/05/2025 12:57

Haha @KayleaaaI’ll be alright - thank you though! Just so stressful when you’re trying! Saying that I tried with my first but I was ten years younger so I wasn’t so worried as I felt I had time - don’t feel like I’ve got time anymore

Iris2024 · 12/05/2025 15:08

Right if I wake up to no AF tomorrow morning I might test 😳 I’ll be 10DPO and CD27. I’m so friggin scared though of a blank test! Are they still faint at 10 though as I don’t want to be shining a torch and imagining lol

Taysonic · 12/05/2025 15:46

Dipping in to say hello.

Sorry to hear @Muddysocks1 - hope you're alright. If anyone knows me from previous threads, you'll know the saying in our house is: Minstrels for your Menstruals (and it's the boys in the house's job to buy the Minstrels!) so hope someone treats you to some choccies. Can understand you wanting to take a step back for a bit, and hope your fertility appointment goes well.

Sorry to you as well @charlzz - glad the GP was able to do the HCG test so you had some certainty and there's a medical log of what's happened - helps mean you're not in limbo land for as long and hopefully they can start looking into what might help prevent in the future. Sending lots of love. It's not easy this, is it?

As for me, I'm currently DPO5... in that 'nice' bit of the TWW where there's no point in testing and nothing to do except just wait for time to tick by. I'm not feeling particularly hopeful this month (really got my hopes up last month and perhaps just protecting myself a little more this month). I'll try and hold out on testing for as long as I can but... easy to say now. Ask me again in 5 days time and I may be doing something different.

In other news though, I have bought a new car. My old car was very old and very tiny, and there was this niggling in the back of my head when I had my miscarriage a couple of months ago that we'd definitely need a new car - there's no way I'd have got a pram in my old one. This new one (to me) is much bigger and a proper family car, so at least that's one thing prepped and ready.

Sending love to everyone else. Hope those who are currently preciously holding faint lines that they continue to progress and get darker... Keeping all my fingers crossed!

ChaE05 · 12/05/2025 15:59

@charlzzI'm really sorry to hear you have gone through this again 💔 to feel so happy seeing that line for it to then fade is just devastating. I'm glad you've got a plan in place. Funnily enough I have just had a telephone call with GP. They did a referral to gynaecology to ask about me breastfeeding and the impact it may have on fertility/miscarriage. I have to be honest the GP spoke so much I'm struggling to remember. But the advice was to stop breastfeeding or cut down. But no conclusive evidence it can contribute to miscarriage? Something about sometimes nipple stimulation and uterus contracting in some women? Sorry, probably not very helpful. I am only nursing about 2 -3 times in 24 hours at night time. And we aren't quite ready to stop. However doctor is sending me for bloods to check vit d, thyroid etc. So see how these come back. 2nd month of not concieving after my 2 losses back to back xx

FigPig · 12/05/2025 16:29

@FlyHighSky72 Technically a chemical pregnancy is a pregnancy that ends before 5 weeks. So if you find out at eg 3 weeks plus 2 days, you have a little while to wait to see if it’ll stick around. I’m currently in that space, but tentatively hopeful at 4weeks 3 days!

It becomes a ‘clinical’ pregnancy when it can be detected via ultrasound and not sure via HCG in the blood and urine. BUT once you go beyond a missed period, your chances of it being a chemical are drastically lowered.

FlyHighSky72 · 12/05/2025 16:41

Thanks for the info @FigPigvery informative! Hope yours stays sticky
