Implantation or strange period

Hi,

So we have tested 18 days post sex and ten days post when my partners ‘strange’ period arrived.

all tests have been negative, with the ultra low 10 test so an early detection test.

We are still worried about pregnancy as we are not trying TTC.

My partners period was a pink wipe on day one, day three was a clear ish wipe and day 4 a small amount of blood in her pad.

My question is, and apologies for the photo, this was one of two tissues from her bleed on day 2.

It looks very clotted and to that end, would you say that this was not implantation bleeding?

The photo is a bit graphic I’m afraid just to pre-warn you.

Thank you in advance

I wouldn’t say implantation, but I suppose everyone is a bit different.

I think at this point I would just pay for a blood test. You’ve posted at least 6 threads about this. The chances of pregnancy at this point are absolutely tiny. You must be spending a fortune on tests. A blood test would be cheaper in the long run and will put your mind at rest.

Your partner is getting negative tests 18 days after you had sex. The chances of getting a positive test this late is tiny. She’s 43. Even if actively trying to conceive, at that age the odds are not in her favour. And I know you’ve said she’s normally regular on her period, but lots of people are until they aren’t. At 43 she’s approaching menopause/peri menopause. The odd weird period at this age isn’t unusual.

Thank you for your feedback both.

its just a strange time right now, between our ages, the fact we finished sex with a condom, she effectively had a period all be it different at the time she should have, combined with our ages and all of the negative tests, the chance must be tiny like you say

We were just seeking reassurance today that the above didn’t look like implantation, which it apparently cannot be as it has many clots.

ah the worry of it all…..

Agree with PP, stop posting about the same thing, read the answers you got previously and if that’s not good enough then get yourself for a private blood test to check for pregnancy.

Implantation bleeding does not typically have any clots and is not that colour, it is light pink and is not more a few drops of blood.

Thanks again for your comments, we do appreciate it

Probably just peri-menopause starting 🤷‍♀️

Thanks to all those who have answered.

not sure why we’re not believing the tests; strange period and with sensitive boobs a few days ago has made us worry… although that could be ovulation related I guess.

Ah the worry….

Please give it a rest. She’s not pregnant. Ah the worry…what worry ?! It’s negative

clarityseeker · 02/05/2025 12:20

Just by way of an update and yes I know we have been worrying.

we did a test today (21 days post sex) and it is negative. (As hoped and expected)

it looks as if my partner has started to come on too so must just be a strange cycle or two.

Hopefully all okay now and thanks for comments that have been shared

Why can't your partner post questions and pics of her menstrual blood herself? This is all a bit much for me...
