Test Reliability at 17 Days Post Sex / 10 Days post period start date

Hi,
My partner had a ‘strange’ period 7 days after we had sex.

We are not TTC, so always very careful on timings etc and always finish with a condom.

She had a strange bleed in as much as day 1, 3 and 4 were very very light, and day 2 was dark and clotted.

She typically has a 25 day cycle and we had sex on day 18, we have tested with CB Ultra (10 not 25 detection level) and also a full array of tests tonight, so 17 days after sex and 10 days after the odd ‘period’ started, all negative.

We are both 43 years old.

How conclusive would you say the tests are at this stage?

Ypu would know by 17 days later. You’ve got 7 negative tests I think it’s time to stop worrying

would anyone say this is not concussive 18 days after sex?

You had sex. She had a period. Funnily enough she's getting negative tests. Why the paranoia? But watch out, she'll be entering her next fertile window soon enough....

It’s the strange period though, almost none existent. Plus yesterday she had tender breasts although that could be down to ovulation about to start I guess

Periods can do weird things and just be periods. Relax. She's not pregnant.

Sometimes periods are extremely light, sometimes heavy, that's normal. If she was pregnant the test would have been positive about a week ago. Hope that helps

So would everyone have good faith in testing at day 18 post sex and 12 days post when her period should have arrived?

We did 5 different tests yesterday and all were negative.

Yes. How many times do you need the same answer? She had a period and is testing negative on many many multiple tests. She would be getting proper dye stealers by now. You can breathe. But maybe use contraceptives going forward if you're trying to avoid a baby?
