Hi Guys,

its my first month trying for a second baby my son is 5 this july. After I had my son after he was 6 months I went on the pill and took them for 3 and a half years. Got off them when my son was 4 but gave my body sometime to get back to normal. (With my first baby I got off the pills and got pregnant right after but had a miscarriage so therefore gave my body a break after pills). My periods are late by 2 days but negative tests.

Just wondering how long it took you all to get pregnant with the 2nd one?

I conceived first cycle trying, was very shocked as DS1 took over a year.

Following with interest. Conceived DD first try and conceived in November first try but that sadly ended in an MMC. I'll be going into my third cycle TTC #2.

First cycle with DC1. DC2, 10 years later (now aged 30&20, full siblings). I don't think this thread will tell you anything.

I conceived first time with my son, and it took four cycles for my second attempt, but that ended in miscarriage. I’m now another three cycles in post-miscarriage and no sign of a BFP yet sadly

Poonu · 23/04/2025 15:33

Couple of weeks. Used that device to work out my two fertile days in the month.

Poonu · 23/04/2025 15:34

You pee on it I think.

3 children. Always conceived within a few months, or straight away when using ovulation strips and tracking. However, also have had a miscarriage and an ectopic with tube removed, so they don't always 'stick'.

Everybody's different.

Instantly. Literally first time trying. Which was a bit of a shock as it took 11 months to conceive DC1. I thought it would take ages the second time as well, but obviously it didn't and that's why there's only 16 months between them.

DC3 took about four months a couple of years later.

That's great to hear! Hoping for some luck for myself too x

And me - came off the pill and I was pregnant.

LittleDoveLove · 23/04/2025 18:22

2.5 years; 3 miscarriages and 2 rounds of IVF.
DC1 was a first try so wasn’t really expecting such a journey for DC2!

Bumblebee1984 · 24/04/2025 10:04

DC1 took 4 cycles and DC2 was second cycle. About to start TTC for number 3 and hoping it's pretty quick again

Seabreeze2 · 24/04/2025 10:41

Interested in others comments :). First cycle with DS, who is now nearly 3. Been trying for baby number 2 “on and off” for about a year and it hasn’t happened, but taken it seriously with tracking and ovulation tests this month so I’m technically counting this as month 1. Currently DPO6 with zero symptoms. Fingers crossed for us all x

JMassey · 24/04/2025 10:41

DS1 first try, DC2 (currently 17 weeks) 4 months, I had my implant removed in Sept and got my Postive in January. I wasn't really tracking either we were going to try properly after Christmas and then i got a positive test when my period was late 😂

OnArainyNight · 24/04/2025 10:46

First cycle with DC1. I assumed the same would happen with #2, but it took a year.

Melusina123 · 24/04/2025 11:43

Three active cycles then a positive (MC); then four active cycles, then positive, currently in second trimester. Took almost a year overall though due to the MC, a couple of weird cycles and generally it being harder to get the timing right. Slightly longer than kid 1 overall.

Limeandbasil90 · 24/04/2025 12:16

First cycle both times

Dreamymama · 24/04/2025 13:10

Love reading everyone’s comments just shows how differently our bodies react ♥️
I was also pregnant first cycle with first child. Currently on first cycle try but no positive test and periods 4 days late which they haven’t been this late before. Hoping for good news in the next one. Good luck to you all trying aswell. ♥️

I actually got pregnant with my second at 38 WHILST on the mini pill only 9 months after I had my first! Needless to say I will be returning to my trusty depo provera once my little girl is born 😂

Emma543 · 24/04/2025 14:23

Conceived first baby second month trying, conceived second baby by accident after a date night and morning after pill when my first was just over a year old 😅

MoserRothOrangeandAlmond · 24/04/2025 14:23

Never used contraception after daughter was 6 months. She’s 6 in July and still waiting for a positive test.
hope your more lucky than us OP!
