BBT spike, positive OPK, negative pregnancy tests, what does it all mean?

Hi,

sorry if my title is confusing 🫠

DH and I TTC baby number 2. In Jan we had a miscarriage, and sadly again in February. we’ve been TTC again as pregnancies were early on and was told it would be fine.

I started tracking bbt this cycle & doing ovulation tests (had a relaxed approach the cycles before). I ovulated 4 days later than my apps predicted, but it’s kept my expected period due date as today (CD 26, DPO 11).

Yesterday, DPO 10, my temp dropped quite a bit, below the baseline. Today it shot up again. Today I got a positive OPK, but negative early response pregnancy test. I’ve also got a lot of EWCM. I’m 95% certain I’m not pregnant, so I’m literally just curious about what these 3 factors, together, could mean. Could my body be trying to ovulate again this cycle?

thank you for reading 🙂

Could it just be that the low bbt was an anomaly / error and that your temperature has actually remained above the base line and will drop in the next few days when you start your period? Was your positive opk definitely positive or just high? How certain are you that your first “ovulation” actually was one?

im equally post miscarriage /cp and my temp and opks are all over the place so you have my sympathies!

Thanks so much for replying, I’m so sorry for your losses too xx

yes it was a positive OPK and I definitely also had a positive one on the day before ovulation (11 days ago). I’ve now broken out in a hives type rash on my hands and ankles. It’s so strange I don’t know if it’s related. I am actually thinking that maybe my body is ovulating again now as you suggest, due to cycles probably being all over the place because of the two MC x
