Anyone fallen pregnant by DTD 5+ days before ovulation?

Hi all 👋

In my first cycle back folllowing a missed miscarriage. Me & my partner were not “actively trying” as I wanted to give my body atleast 1x full cycle following everything, but we ended up having a bit too much fun and then I think I ovulated around 5 later.

My question is… has anyone ever conceived by having sex this far before ovulating? 🙂 now I’ve started to somewhat get my hopes up (as I’ve been getting quite a few pregnancy type symptoms - spike in BBT at 7 DPO which has dropped slightly this morning, sharp shooting pain in right side near belly button last night, dull cramps, tiredness, thirstier than usual etc) that I think I’ll be a bit disappointed if I’m not!

Sperm can last up to 5 days in the fallopian tubes waiting for an egg but they very quickly die off after 3 days, anything after 5 days is an absolute no chance. Only way to know if you fell pregnant is to wait the required time ans then take a test or wait for a missed period.

Sorry to hear about your MMC! You “think” you ovulated? Means you aren’t 100% sure, which also means it’s very possible you ovulated earlier than you think you did.

I was tracking ovulation and I DTD 4 days before ovulation. Currently 20 weeks pregnant.

thanks@Lulu89x- my body showed all the signs of ovulating and I got a crazy strong peak LH strip on cycle day 20/21 (making me think I was just about to ovulate or maybe already had) and we DTD on cycle day 16.

Oh wow really! That’s made me feel a bit more hopeful but you still never really know!

did you have many early symptoms?

So its very possible you did it during your fertile window so you're in for a chance!

From 1-10DPO I had persistent cramping which I've never had. That paired with very sore boobs. It got to a point where I was unable to face the water during a shower as the water hitting my nipples hurt too much - I got a BFP at 10DPO!
