Chances on getting pregnant from sex 2-3 days before ovulation

on 4th cycle TTC but haven’t exactly been TTC good, partner is in the marines and often deployed so although we’ve been TTC we’ve never got this close to my fertile days before.

We had sex this cycle on cycle day 12, that day I had a negative OPK but fertile cervical mucus. This is the only time we had sex this month and the only time we will.

The next morning (13dpo) I had a blazingly positive OPK so less than 24 hours after the negative. 14DPO it was still a blazing positive.

Its now 15dpo and my OPKs are back to being faint and my CM is not stretchy anymore.

I know sperm can live for up to 5 days but realistically what are the chances of it living for 2-3 days? Is this likely another missed opportunity?

Ive read things saying it’s ideal to have sex a few days before ovulation but is this the case even with a negative OPK which I had on 12dpo?

I know it’s too early to feel any symptoms but my womb does feel heavy

Yes the days (particularly O minus 1 and 2, but minus 3 as well) as good opportunities. Different studies say slightly different chances, I’ll share what I’d found before online. It does vary a bit. But we only did O and O+1 and I’m worried we missed the best days, so it’s hard to know!

Both my baby and current pregnancy were conceived on 2-3 days pre-ovulation so it’s not impossible!
