Has anyone stopped drinking alcohol whilst TTC?

Decided to have a break/detox from drinking, partly due to weight reasons but mostly TTC. Read quite a bit about the impact of alcohol, and used a tracking app to log how much alcohol I was drinking and even though I thought it wasn’t much (just wine at the weekends) it adds up! Going to stock up on nice non-alcoholic drinks for home.
has anyone else done this, did it help?

Given that alcohol has now been classified as as carcinogenic as asbestos I'd say giving up if you are ttc would be a great opportunity

I found the opposite helped! Tried for a year, nothing was happening, gave up drinking for a year, ate everything that was recommended, etc. Decided to take a break before Christmas, drank loads, ate whatever I wanted, even had a puff on a cigarette (haven’t smoked in years). I was pregnant that month!

Yes! I am paranoid about drinking before realizing I'm pregnant so have pretty much stopped, apart from a few breaks on period weeks.

Can't say it's helped yet but makes me feel like I'm doing the right thing!

I'm not a really regular drinker anyway so haven't found it too hard to stop.

Baby no 6 ttc here and I have pcos it can take me a very long time to get that bfp, I'm not a big drinker maybe couple times a year but I've adapted the attitude drink till it's pink because I've been that person not having a glass of wine or champagne at a celebration ect and still had bfn month after month... maybe if I was a frequent drinker I would think differently but genuinely I drink at christmas, my birthday, a celebration that's all... I dont go out so that cuts out drinking and ive never drunk in the house so it's been easier than for someone who's use to a drink or enjoys a drink after a long working week x

Two of my friends. Struggled to conceive or once they did conceive, had MC / multiple MC.

Both couples cut out alcohol completely and both had babies in 2024 with no issues.
