Hello all!

Sorry I was quiet yesterday, had an awful day at work including a 5 hour video conference. You can only look at yourself on screen for so long before going crazy

My temps are still high but AF is definitely on its way - some spotting yesterday and heavier today. A bit of a relief!

LBOT I started taking Raspberry Leaf extract - which is meant to help prevent spotting and is meant to 'tone' the uterus after a mc (In the same way that it tones the uterus in preperation for the birth). I do think it has made a big difference.

Yarnie Good luck on getting that planning application permission! I hope that the pregnancy sinks in - I know what you mean about no symptoms, I also remember the surreal first weeks. Would you consider getting a re-assurance scan before your 12 week?

Hello Minxi , Lottie & MM !

Hello Glad to see you all weighed in today

yarnie I totally understand how you feel about telling - it's such a personal thing. I had had two early scans at the EPU - the first because I asked the nurse at the GP if some weird cramping was normal and she sent me off right away to have a scan to rule out an ectopic. When I got there, there wasn't much to see because it was so early on (I was 5w3d according to my LMP, but they said it all measured 4w3d - which I thought was likely considering I don't O until around CD18). They had me come back two weeks later for a viability scan and at that point we saw a heartbeat, which gave me the courage to tell some people.

Brightside glad to hear you're relieved about AF. Just had a look at your chart, so you've just had two days of spotting and have previously had four? That's a pretty good result! I've also been drinking raspberry leaf tea this month, but forgot to bring some with me.

Lottie I'm not exactly in 'NYC' My parents live about 60 miles outside the city, so I'm here on Long Island. Poured down all day yesterday but lovely today.

My temps are being a bit weird. Have all been 'post-O' temps for me, but I'm a bit jetlagged and keep waking at 5am or so. Yesterday I woke up at 6:20am and took my temp - it was 36.51, but I had been feeling really hot. Turned on the ceiling fan and woke up again at 7am and took my temp again - 36.47, I think. But I don't think either is very reliable. This morning I woke up at 5am and had to go to the bathroom - didn't think there was any way I could possibly hold it - I think I took my temp then, but don't remember as I was half asleep. Took it when I woke up at 7 and it was 36.44. Went back to sleep and woke up at 8:30, so I figured that was after 3 hours sleep (from 5am) and took temp again - this time 36.35. So, needless to say I'm all confused! I'm sure I'll have another similar temp tomorrow, which means FF will give me an ov date of CD16 - I just don't know if it's reliable, so I might stop temping after that. I don't have sore breasts like I usually do after O, and my CM was watery on CD16 and has gotten progressively creamier. Sorry for all the TMI, but I'm thoroughly confused! And I guess it doesn't really matter anyway. We BD'd as best we can and nothing can be changed now!

LOTTIE OMG, Lottie!!!! I was just checking your post on the Assisted Conception thread. First of all, I am so for you about that email the GYN sent you!!! I don't even know what to say, but I'm glad you decided against using him. I can't even imagine how hurt, frustrated, angry, you must've felt by how he treated you. I'm so sorry. I don't know how he could be practicing

But...okay, here's why I'm freaking out. You said you worked on The Word in 94? How long were you there? Do you remember a boy who drank his own puke - think it was 95??? If you were behind the scenes you might've known that he was actually a twin and that originally he and his brother wanted to drink one another's vomit, but the producers said no because of health and safety issues. Well, my DH is the twin who didnt make it on the show (thank god! )

NappyValley · 26/07/2008 09:36

Sorry girls I have been so rubbish over the last few months. I have been so busy with work. Time for a final plug of Talking Tots me thinks!! If you have a preschooler check out www.talkingtots.info for a fab activity to do with them.

OK back to business.

How fantastic to see so many BFPs. I have been here for about 15 months now and it is time to bow out and join the assisted conception thread or bust.

Last cycle unsurprisingly didn't result in a pregnancy and maybe it is not meant to happen for us and our 1 very lively and special boy is the greatest blessing we will receive. But I am not totally ready to give up and pray that God grants us another bundle of joy.

Anyway I bow out from the temp thread, but I will be keeping an eye on you. Most of you are reasonably new to this thread and in the 15 months I have seen a whole load of BFPs and there are many mums out there that started here. So please be encouraged and get BDing because being a mum is the best job in the world.

Thank you all for your support, love and patience. Good Luck.

Oh and now the potty training has worked I guess I need a new name!!

SesQal · 26/07/2008 11:01

hi! Sorry to barge in on this thread but I have recently started temping as this is my first cycle ttc after mc. I started on what I think was CD9. Historically my cycles have been fairly regular at 28-32 days. So far I have:
CD9 36.1
CD10 36.47
CD11 36.60
CD12 36.43
CD13 36.34
CD14 36.42
CD15 36.32
CD16 36.53
CD17 36.70
CD18 36.53
CD19 36.90
CD20 36.75

Does this indicate that I ov day 16? Was CD11 just a blip? What normally happens to temps at end of cycle?
Hope you can help me understand?!!

Hi all,

I am back from a lovely weekend away in thew New Forest - the weather even co-operated!

No temps for me, as I forgot my therometer at home, but as I am CD2 I guess it doesn't matter too much.

lastbox yup- I am down to 2 days of spotting, after 4 days + in my last cycles, so I am very happy. I hope you are enjoying your time with your family - your temps do sound rather up & down, probably due to the jetlag. Perhaps (as you say) leave the temping for now. Easier said than done, I know!

lottie I am off to check out your post on the assisted conception thread, sorry to hear that you aren't going with that consultant - but at least you seem to have more information than you started with?

nappyvalley sorry to say goodbye, but good luck in your next stage of ttc. You will have to pop back every now and then to keep us updated! Hope to see you around the pregnancy boards sometime soon.

SesQal I am really sorry to hear about the miscarriage. Temping is a great way fo getting to know your cycle. Do you use Fertilityfriend or any other online temp charts? They are a great help in trying to decipher the daily temps. There does seem to be a sustained increase after CD16, but without seing it on a graph - it is hard to know? (I am terrible at things like that, sorry!)

Also - I started temping after a mc and my temps were all over the place for a while. They settled down in my second or third cycle. (I am not sure how long ago your mc was?)

Thanks Londonlottie and Brightside

Have just logged onto FF which looks helpful. Temp today was up again at 37.15! Have relatives staying at the moment - sil, her husband and 4dcs! Gofing hasn't happened since cd14 as a result so I'm not holding out a lot of hope this month.

Mc was complicated... Initially mmc at 12 week scan and ERPC on 16th April. Then to cut a long story short I had another ERPC on 23rd June. No one knew if it was another mmc or still 'retained product' and has all been a bit stressful but we're coming through the otherside gradually.

lastboxoftampons · 27/07/2008 23:40

Hello there everyone glad to see some movement on here!!

Ses I agree with the others as far as charting goes. Looks like you might've Ov'd on CD15. Did you have any other signs? CM or OPK? My cycle's been mental since my mc, and it wasn't settling down, it was just getting worse. I'm taking agnus castus this month and I've seen a remarkable difference.

Nappy so sorry you're leaving us but do come visit. Best of luck with AC. Hoping for another LO for you!! (and me too! )

Hi Lottie and BSOL Hope you had lovely weekends!

So I guess I hadn't actually ov'd on CD16 like I thought - I had copious amounts of EWCM this morning like it was hanging out of me!!!! Sorry for TMI, but I was really excited - the only other time it's been like this was the cycle I got pregnant. So, while I'm a bit sad that we didn't get to BD anywhere near my O date and that this month is most likely out, I'm very excited that the AC seems to be working and very hopeful for next month!

SesQal · 28/07/2008 07:32

Hi LBOT! I did use OPK and got a +ve on CD13 so could tie in well with ov on CD15. Also plenty of EWCM from CD 12 - 16. Not heard of agnus castus... What is it?

I'm back at work today after a week off. Feels like a bit of a shock to the system! Hope you all have a good day

SesQal · 28/07/2008 07:35

btw, temp dropped this morning to 36.44 so I think that probably rules me out this cycle?

Ok, I know this is madness, because I have made up the temps for previous days, but I have linked my chart for the last 4 days since having my BBT thermometer, and I think I had a +ve OPK, and definitely had ferning on my scope around the time the thermometer arrived, so think I caught ovulation in time.

Morning all,

Great to see this thread busy again!

sesqal I am glad that you found fertility friend - I find it invaluable for tracking my temps & other symptoms. Don't worry too much about the latest low temp. I always get one really low temp 3 - 8 days after I ovulate (Every month I tell myself it is implantation, but it is actually just an oestrogen dip). You shouldn't read too much into individual temperatures - it is the pattern you are looking at. Can I tempt you to join our list? Then we can keep an eye on those temps with you

Sorry (again) to hear about the miscarriage, My mc(s?) sound similar when I lost my baby at 10 weeks, I won't hijack the thread with my details - but suffice to say, I know a little of how you feel and hope you are doing OK.

I hope work is going well, it does seem an awful waste of the brilliant weather!

Lastbox Great news on the EWCM - not so great that you are away, but great news that the agnes cactus is working so well!

I was reading about a storm in New York & Long Island, in this morning's newspaper. Hope you guys are OK!

Hi lottie Great news on all that BD'ing! Hope you OV soon. I am at SUCH a boring part of my cycle, can't wait to get moving again!

Hi & Welcome lou ! That looks like an interesting chart - there is a definite temp increase. Hopefully you caught it in time

BrightSideOfLife · 28/07/2008 09:32

lottie sorry - I cross posted!

I love the 'waving the price lists for private IVF clinics under your partner's nose ' comment, it seems to have worked

Morning all!

lottie I know what you mean about the last few days of the cycle. I am terrible though - I cling on to hope right until the bitter end - and even though I have all my classic PMS symptoms and Af has started, I am wondering if this is an 'implantation bleed'

That sounds like quite a radical change in diet (With good benefits!) I actually started reading 'The Fertility Diet' by Susan Dobbyn last night. It is interesting - there are some pretty obvious things (Like cutting out alcohol and caffeine) but there are some new things as well.

Morning LBOT hope you are having a great time with your family!

lou031205 · 29/07/2008 13:10

Ok, so temp still up this morning. Am I right in thinking that it should stay up for the next few days regardless of whether I have 'caught' the egg? So high temps at the moment don't really mean anything with regards to pregnancy?

Missmodular · 29/07/2008 13:42

Hello ladies. Welcome to Lou and Sesqal - good to see more tempers out there - don't feel obliged to hoohar just because of the thread title!

Lou unfortunately temping doesn't really tell you any sooner that you're pg than a pregnancy test would. Your temp should stay high until a day or so before af starts. If it doesn't drop when you're due, that's when to start getting excited!

Lottie your BD action sounds good for this month. Fingers crossed for you!

LBOT glad the AC is making a difference. I took it the last time I got pg so hope it does the same for you

Big wave to everyone else. I'm now nine weeks along and still feeling as sick as a dog. I've now told everyone I wouldn't mind knowing if I had a miscarriage, so am now waiting for the 12 week scan to put that worry to rest.

SesQal · 30/07/2008 07:23

Morning

Sorry for not updating list. No home Internet access at the moment - am typing this on my phone!

I'm 36.66 cd24 8dpo lp?15-16

Hope that makes sense!

FF reckons I ov cd16. Not holding out much hope this cycle as only GOF was cd13 as DH was away and then have had relatives staying until yesterday! 6 extra people in our little house was not too GOF friendly!

Hi MissMod Hope you are feeling OK today. Not too long until the 12 week scan now

Hi lou great news on your temps staying up as it confirms ovulation - but as Missmod says - it is a waiting game now

SesQal I have updated the list with your details, if that is OK? GOF 3 days before OV is still OK, fingers crossed for you

No real news on this side...at work and bored STIFF...would much rather be outside enjoying the sunshine!

Hi all, would like to come and pick your brains (brightsideoflife told me to jump over here if i had any questions). Ok so when do you actually start recording BBT, i am cycle#3, CD#1, TTC#3, but never thought about charting or recording BBT until i read through some posts on MN (alot of you were helpful during my last PG). Any starter info would be great.
