How long did it take to conceive your second child?

Hoping to put my mind at rest - DC1 is almost 3 and we have been trying for number 2 for 4 months (I know this isn’t very long) and I am disheartened/worried already. I’m now 34!

DC1 was conceived first try without ovulation kits or anything. How long did it take for you to conceive your first vs your second? I have around 6 friends pregnant at the moment with their seconds and thirds and they all got pregnant first try again.

DD first try. I was 30 when she was born. DS took 10 months total, 6 of those with ovulation sticks and it felt like forever. I was 35 when he was born.

Our first happend without trying, the only time we had sex that month as we were living apart.

The second time it took 9 months of actively trying and I was starting to get really worried.

That time, I conceived the first month I used ovulation tracking sticks, I'll never know if it was that that made the difference, but maybe.

DD1- 1 year TTC
DD2- 1st cycle
TTC no.3- currently on cycle 5 of trying x

First took a year. 2nd we were expecting to take a year again so started trying just after ds1's first birthday. Ds2 was born 10 months later. Ds3 took 4 months.

3 years and IVF for our first, then a surprise pregnancy for our second (not tracking anything or trying, but obviously not preventing either). 4 months is below the average so I wouldn't worry just yet

First DS was the first try, Currently 6 weeks with our Second, came off the Implant in Sept 24, so about 4 months? That was also no ovulation tracking or anything. Good Luck! x

First child conceived on first attempt, second child took 7 years, had lots of investigations, but no cause found.

First one 3 months second one was a mis judged gamble while breastfeeding and very welcome.

First 10 months at 30, second first month at 35

Four months for both.

It took eleven months for the first, one try for the second, and four months for the third and final.

First one took about 6 minutes (aged 34 - accident). Second one (well, in for a penny in for a pound) took about 7 months (aged 36).
