Chance of pregnancy??

Hi all

Ive never posted on this topic only pregnancy but thought you ladies would have some experience/advice.

I am ebf my DD (10 months old) and have not yet had a period since prior to my pregnancy. Me and hubby did the deed on Saturday just gone and then Sunday night I had a bit of tummy cramping. By Monday morning the cramps were 6/10 pain so I took an ovulation test which was positive.

Assuming ovulation took place soon after the test I wondered whether there could be any chance I would be pregnant from this or do you need to do the deed a little closer to taking the test?

I tried to attach a pic of the ovulation test for reference as I know they can be tricky but I’m happy it was positive (test line much darker than control line).

many thanks in advance!

Yep

Sorry-if you have unprotected sex, there is a chance of pregnancy. The risk is greater or lesser, but it's always there. Take a test.

Doesn’t sperm live for up to a week? I think there’s a chance you could get pregnant.

Photos aren’t allowed on MN atm.

Yes. Every woman and scenario will have variables of course, but in general 5 days leading up to ovulation is the best/most likely time to conceive.

Yes human sperm can live up to 5 days so you could definitely be pregnant

Thank you all!

Id love to have another baby I just didn’t think it was on the cards yet as I’d not had a period/any inclination I have been ovulating since before those pains!

I will monitor ovulation from now but assuming a period doesn’t show up, should I test in two weeks? I’m used to a missed period being the hint however I’ve not had one since July 2023 and breastfeeding for me mimics a lot of my pregnancy symptoms (fatigue, nausea when hungry etc)

thank you again xx

Update-

working on the above dates, today I am approx 11dpo. Attached is the test from this morning. Not sure whether positive or evap line??

it’s worth noting I took a test 2 days ago and was a BFN!

Will test again tomorrow and see if it’s any darker!

That's a BFP!

Well I called EPU as I usually need progesterone in early pregnancy and they asked me to take another test to confirm (as I mentioned evap). I’ve attached the two now.

Obviously the top one is out of time now but the one below came up after just a few minutes!

Just posting for the benefit of the ladies who get a bfn 9dpo! You may still be in time too xx
