Negative on day of missed period

I took an early test on approx 9DPO and it was negative. Then today i am approx 12DPO and AF is due today. I only had normal tests (25mlU sensitivity) took one this morning and it was negative. I know I’m grasping at straws but has anyone had this happen and still been pregnant. AF normally arrives early hours so when I didn’t I got excited but now I don’t know what to think? Any advice or past experience welcome (even if I just need tough love 😂) Thanks x

You can implant up to 12dpo so if it only just happened it might not show on a test yet? Fingers crossed for you!

I mean this gently, but this is why it's better to just wait for a missed period before testing. It just drives you mad, is a waste of tests and gets your hopes up.

Yes I know you’re both right, just so difficult to be patient. But I can’t go through this again. Just the stress of it all can delay your period can’t it. Thanks for the replies.

Absolutely. And I've been TTC for 4 years so believe me, it's far less stressful to assume your period's on its way until its not appeared. I only use my Flo app to log my period now and then don't look at it again until my next period. Stops me obsessing.

I fell pregnant this time last year and i didn't test positive until the day after missed AF and that was on a sensitive test. Plus the line didn't come up straight away and was faint. I didn't test positive on a regular test until about 3 days after AF was due. I must have ovulated or implanted late.

So I’m 3 days late, did a boots early test yesterday and still BFN. Not sure what’s going on but I’m not pregnant 😔

Probably just a bit of a weird month. Hormones have a lot to answer for!

I've had a few months like this. No explanation, negative tests, just no period one month then back to normal the next.
Google gives various reasons for it, it's more common than you think

Thanks everyone, still no AF. Sore boobs and nipples for a few days so maybe it’s on the way now. I refuse to waste anymore tests! 😂

It looks positive to me! I'm not sure why it would take so long to come out though! But I could've written this myself...currently 1 day late for AF, that's unusual for my cycle usually it's very regular. Fingers crossed it'll get darker for you 🥰

That looks positive to me. Congratulations! With my second daughter I didn't show a positive until 4 days after my missed my period. I was told I ovulated later as they worked out dates on my scans.

Thanks everyone I hope it’s right, I just keep expecting to see my period show up. We DTD on the 11th Jan and not again until 25th Jan, so latest I could have ovulated to conceive would have been a few days after the 11th??

Sperm can live for 5 days I think? So I suppose you could have ovulated on 14th and today is 13 dpo? No way to be sure now but congratulations!

I did another CB yesterday and it was still faint but a bit darker. But then yesterday I had some light pink / brown discharge so I thought here comes AF, but then it stopped and nothing since. I’ve not tested this morning and I’m in work all day until 8pm so I’m going to try and forget about it (easier said than done 🤣) and get some more test tomorrow. As long as AF doesn’t show in the meantime.

Im feeling a little nauseous and I’ve got a headache on and off with a bit of dizziness. But I don’t know how much of that is anxiety to be honest.
