Work travel to ZIKA area

Hi everyone, my husband and I are trying to conceive this year. My work sometimes requires me to travel to countries where there is ZIKA (& various other viruses that would be problematic if pregnant). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to decline these trips? Although I would have preferred not to share that we are TTC I am wondering it it’s better to be transparent with work.

Can you just say that as a woman of child bearing age, you don't feel comfortable with the risk.

We had this issue in a team of women recently. Usually everyone is falling over themselves for the trips. The one to Brazil no-one wanted!

What previous poster said. You are aloways within your rights to decline travel to areas with health risks. You have to avoid TTC for 3-months after travel to places with Zika. You don't even need to say why, just that you are not comfortable travelling to that region. Your work will probably guess anyway! But its personal information you don't need to declare.
