Time of day for ovulation tests

What time of day is it best to do ovulation tests? Do you still get an accurate result at any time of day?

I was wondering the answer to this myself! I've only ever done them in the evening

Apparently the best time is around 1400. That‘s when I did them

When I was doing them I did around 1-2pm as that was what I read would be the best timing, have seen on MN that lots of people test twice a day though to make sure they don't miss the peak.

I use CB advanced digital. I do one a day till I get high fertility and then start testing 2-3 times a day to really pinpoint when the LH surge starts if I get one. I’m a bit desperate though as have been ttc for 3.5 years !

thanks everyone, will try around 2pm. I am yet to find myself having a surge and am wondering if I’m missing it or if my hormones are out of whack. It’s probably the latter I just don’t want to accept it 😔

This is what I've just found but what do you do if you have a weak bladder

Did you hold your urine and not have that much fluid for 4 hours like google apparently says but I've heard if you hold your urine for that long it can cause problems

The cycles where I ovulate I seem to have my peak at 6-7 am . One month I had a peak at 7 pm . I’m really hoping the Letrozole works 🤞

The cheap strips? 2pm and 10pm... You will def catch your +....

I tend to find my peak first thing or late at night, but agree with above comments, the closer to ovulation day I tend to to LH strips twice/three times a day to try catch the peak always seems to work doing this. 7am/2pm/10pm

Mine comes between 10:00 and 12:00 without fail. I used to test lasted and never even saw a rise. My first pregnancy test was a shock 😆

@KittyFantastica thats interesting. So when you were tracking you never saw a rise, just a sudden peak between 10-12? I am not getting a rise either and so without a rise or peak am assuming I’m not ovulating but maybe this isn’t the case?

Correct @Boymama87 Some of us have incredibly swift peaks. My rise, peak and fall happens within 45 minutes every single time. I've been tracking since August 2023, months before we even started trying, so have seen plenty. It took me until January last year to figure out how fast my peak is. I've attached a picture of my last peak in December so you can see how fast it went from low to peak and back down again (I got pregnant from this cycle, so it worked).

@KittyFantastica Wow that’s so fast, if mine is like this I definitely wouldn’t pick it up just testing once a day, even twice. This has reassured me that I’m not necessarily not ovulating. It might still be a possibility but isn’t a certainty. Thank you!

Definitely worth testing neighbour the day for a month or two to get a decent picture of what's going on :). Good luck!
