Letrozole - 5th cycle - still on 2.5mg?

I’m about to start my 5th Letrozole cycle.

Cycle 1 and 2 days 2-6 and I had 2 follicles and had hcg trigger with both. No luck. Cycle 3 and 4 days 3-7 again 2 follicles each time and again no luck all other tests fine. Waiting to have IVF when have saved up.

About to start cycle 5 but should I be trying 5mg? My doctor says stick to 2.5mg for 6 cycles . Is this right ? Did anyone else do different ?
I was ovulating very early cd10 with the hcg trigger and without cd13 which my clinic says is better ? Do I just try for another 2 cycles I’m so fed up

When you say 'no luck', do you mean you didn't ovulate? Or do you mean you didn't conceive?

If you're ovulating on 2.5mg then that'll be the reason they're not increasing your dose. If you're not ovulating on 2.5mg then yes, I'd expect them to increase that to 5mg.

That I didn’t conceive. We’ve had every test possible done some even twice to double check. I have only been pregnant once and it resulted in a very late loss 18 years ago. I had just heard of others moving up to 5mg when not successful on 2.5 but I do get 2 follicles each time and ovulate with or without the hcg trigger .

I think if you're getting two follicles on 2.5 then they'll be very reluctant to move you up to 5, clinics are very nervous about the prospect of higher order multiples and I've heard of people being told to sit cycles out if they have more than 2 follicles.

I'm sorry that you haven't managed to conceive - it's such a frustrating process. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Thankyou. I think I’m just at that point of total frustration! Every test is perfect yet something must be very wrong !!!
