3 days late and faint line outside timeframe

Hello

Looking for any similar experiences.

I’m 3 days late for my period. I took ovulation tests and also had ovulation pain so fairly certain on my days. I took a test this morning and there was no line within 3 minutes but a faint line after 10 minutes.

I assume it should be a fairly clear line at this point if I was pregnant. So what does a faint line after the time mean? Could it be a chemical pregnancy?

Hi OP, a faint line after the timeframe is usually an evap. Basically the way the test has dried has left a mark on the strip. If nothing visible within the test's timeframe, my interpretation would be its negative xx

@CosmicLove thanks for your reply, I didn’t know this. Wonder where my period is then!

Just to add a picture of the test.

It does look quite positive tbh. Evaps are usually colourless, but that one looks like it has some colour in it. Does it look that way in real life too? I'd be inclined to test again in the morning to be sure. It's so hard this waiting game! Good luck xx

I would expect a more clear positive 3 days after af due but everyone is different and I've definitely read of some women not getting dye stealers right away. Keeping everything crossed for you xx

Thanks @CosmicLove yes I am wondering if it is a positive (looks like the picture in real life), but as you say should be stronger by now, so expecting it to turn into a chemical.
I’ve never had one before so didn’t really understand - I thought it was when people got positives before their period was due and period came anyway, but now I understand it can happen even if you don’t get your period!

Yes it's an early loss before 5 weeks, before it would be deemed a clinical pregnancy. So someone may or may not get a positive before their period is due, depending on if/when they test.

Hoping for the best for you 🙏xx
