Squack I have a really good feeling! A line is a line! Even a faint one! And remember false positives are not as common as false negatives. I can't really see the pic in your profile to judge though, it's too tiny

Squack · 07/05/2008 10:42

Thanks prepg

I need to hold my pee until lunchtime I think.

I don't know how to resize the pic.

glaskham · 07/05/2008 10:44

oh i feel so out of my depth now....come on here and the only thing i'm cycling for is with OPK's!! i wouldn't know on temp and same with discharge stuff....but anyway i'm on day 14/16 of cycle....can decide which as i had 2 days of pink spotting before properly bleeding on my last period, and it lasted 2 days longer than normal, so if counting from first bit of blood i'm on day 16.

I have 2 kids myself, and am happily (most of the time) married. I decided to become a surrogate when my DD was 5mths old, and here i am now 20mths later ttc for my dear friends!!

Diege · 07/05/2008 11:15

Glaskam, can see how your 'right time' is a whole new ball game compared to us lot just laying caution to the wind and goff-ing like mad [grinn].
Squack, very postive vibes here too, how exciting!!
Kay, you poor love, must be v.scary (had it with dd1 myself at 8 weeks for about 4 days, pink then red, then pink/brown again). Sure things are OK, esp when this would have been whenn your af would have been due..Any luck with EPU?

Playingthewaitinggame · 07/05/2008 11:34

Hi Ladies,

Seem to have missed a lot so only quickly skim read the thread.

Squack, the signs are looking promosing, I will remain quietly optomistic for you.

LG&T - sorry you're still going through so much, I think maybe in cases like this the only thing that can get you through it is the MN mantra "this too shall pass"

Cosmos - sure the gums bleading are just due to hormonal changes, think its very unlikely you are pg, although there is a chance as you did time GOF about right. Might be worth testing to rule out if its worrying you, otherwise I wouldn't bother, you'll soon find out if you are pg!

Think we had a few newbies join, welcome, sorry I can't remember everyone names now!

Glaskham, thats a very decent thing you are doing! You're periiod (i.e CD1) starts fromt he first day of proper flow, so the spotting doesn't count. And you're soon chat up with all the cycle tracking methods!

Playingthewaitinggame · 07/05/2008 11:35

Oh and sorry, meant to say, hi to everyone else!

Hello

Have been very busy in the garden - am shattered, and blody hot!

Have done a Boots Digi-test, and I'm still pregnant!

Kay, fingers crossed you have had a scan and seen everything is well

Squack, hope you got the right result

Everyone else, hello!

Playingthewaitinggame · 07/05/2008 14:33

GJ - it looks liek we will have plenty of room in the wagon and yes I am using the time to careful monitor CM and the like and have actually found it very useful. Before coming on here I thought I had really irregular periods and would have problems, now I realise that I simply don't ov on the same day every month but my LP is pretty constant 13/14 days so that has really helped.

Nat - what a lovely day to be out in the garden. I am sat at my desk at work looking at the pure blue sky and sun feeling very jealous. Mind you at least it was warm enough to have our first evening bbq last night, a sure sign summer is on the way!

Meeely2 · 07/05/2008 14:38

can I ask wot does LP mean? Also, if I am an irregular period person, when's best to find out when one ovulates, or should we just have sex everyday from when AF finishes......

Meeely2 · 07/05/2008 14:42

btw, still no AF, still feel bloated but no tummy ache now, but BFN again this morning.

kayzisexpecting · 07/05/2008 14:52

Just got back from the hospital. Still no bloody scan though!!! I have to go back at 9 tomorrow though. That means 2 days off work but they have been great.

No one can take us tomorrow so we have to try and get a bus. I feela bit pissed off they couldn't have just checked for cancellations and seen if they could've squeezed me in.

laughalot · 07/05/2008 14:53

Laughalot crashes onto thread spreading baby dust everywhere and is at nj CONGRATULATIONS mate xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

laughalot · 07/05/2008 14:56

Nat will you be having a jan baby then ? I found out I was pg with lauren on the 5th may and she was born 14th jan

Playingthewaitinggame · 07/05/2008 14:57

Hi Meeely. LP is Luteul Phase (cant think how to spell that right now!). LP is the length of time between when you ovulate to when you period starts. In a typical text book 28 day cycle you would probably ov on a CD14 (cycle day) so you LP would also be 14 days. However, most women do not have textbook cycles. LPs tend to vary between 10-16 days, although they can be shorter and longer and also many women do not ovulate on CD14. I tend to ov between CD18 and CD25 so my period are anything between 31 to 39 days. So you ovulation date can vary every month (often it is effected by stress, illness etc) but your LP shouldn't vary. The theory goes that as long as you have a constant LP within the "normal" range you have a "normal" cycle. I have found this very reassuring to know!

I have been monitoring CM as a way of watching when I ovulate as it seem to be pretty accurate for me. Not only have I found this useful for reassurance it is also extremely useful for located my fertility window so I can concentrate GOFing on the most beneficial days. Having said that its best not to get too hung up on it and plenty of sex is really the best way to go about it!!!

Playingthewaitinggame · 07/05/2008 15:00

Sorry lots of typos and of course I mean I will be able to concentrate on GOFing at the right time as I am most def still on the wagon!

Playingthewaitinggame · 07/05/2008 15:06

Actually thinking about it I suppose me finding out I ovulate between CD18-25 is important. Before i just bought into the myth that most women aroung CD14 (give or take a few days) so would have been aiming for completely the wrong time. Now I know to aim later in my cycle. I also know (within a day or so) when my period is due, which is something I haven't know for years and is very useful if you are ttcing, so you know when you can test!

Playingthewaitinggame · 07/05/2008 15:07

should have been: that most women ovulate around CD14

happynappies · 07/05/2008 15:19

Hi - I've been keeping away as I definately didn't want to fall off the wagon, but here I am on CD14 and tonight is the night (plus tomorrow and the next day). Am excited and nervous at the prospect of falling pregnant again (second time) and also worried/realistic about the fact that I probably won't - we had it too easy first time around! Am looking into this CM malarky, but also trying to be laid back - ttc is such a difficult business!!! This thread speeds on at such a pace - is there anyone in a similar position to me? Sounds like some lovely BFP success stories - congratulations NJ - great news!

Meeely2 · 07/05/2008 15:26

CM is...? thanks

happynappies · 07/05/2008 15:29

ahem... CM is cervical mucus. Knicker-checking regularly will reveal certain... changes... indicative of ovulation. People talk of EWCM where what you see resembles egg white... a sure sign. sorry for tmi!!
