Positive pregnancy test 5 days after period?

Hello, I am confused. I got the mirena coil removed mid November & am TTC. I got my period about a week after the coil was removed & again on 15th December. I did a pregnancy test today randomly & it is showing 2-3 weeks pregnant. Totally surprised & confused, I don’t want to get my hopes up. Has this happened to anyone else?

What was your period like on 15th Dec? Was it light + more like spotting? It could have been implantation bleeding

It was heavy for 2 days then very light. I tested on the run up to it & the tests were negative. Period arrived 1 day after flo app predicted it was due.

It sounds like you really are pregnant. I bled when pregnant with my DS. It was an implantation bleed - lighter than normal period but heavy enough for me to think it was a period. Lasted about five days I think? And started roughly when my period was due.

I actually had three big bleeds during the first month and my pregnancy was otherwise completely healthy. Good luck

Really uncommon to get a false positive (I've had them after night nurse and never at any other times) so I'd say it sounds like the bleed was implantation?

I have done quite a few tests now & they are all positive! Booked an early scan for next week so fingers crossed!

Hi, I am the original poster but had to enter a new username for some reason. I am 24 weeks pregnant today with a healthy boy. There have been no issues, they think my dates were slightly out! Hopefully you are in the same position.. fingers crossed for you!

@WAM93 That’s great news! Congratulations on your healthy pregnancy! It’s so strange as I use Flo and test so I’m pretty sure my dates aren’t out but I guess only time will tell!
