TTC after ectopic- private HCG bloods?

I had ectopic last week and they had to remove one of my fallopian tubes. We want to try for our second baby this year currently have a 1 year old. I am very nervous. EPU will only see you 6/7 weeks for first scan with ectopic history which is fairly late to try and catch it.

NHS also do not take bloods every 48 hours to check that HCG is doubling daily as midwife says ‘everyone is different’. However this seems to be the way they do it in most other countries after ectopic history. They check your bloods every 48 hours to check your HCG is doubling normally as it doesn’t do this in ectopics.

Has anyone had their bloods done elsewhere for this? Any advice?

Can't advise about bloods, but I can speak from experience that I had an ectopic before going on to conceive my third. Ectopic was August 2023 with my left tube removed, I then had a miscarriage in the October (I think it may just have been too soon for my body) before conceiving my baby the cycle after that. I would just say to let the epu know as soon as your pregnant and any bleeding or pain they will likely see you earlier.

Thank you that is very reassuring 🙏 were you nervous when you were trying again after your ectopic? I don’t know how I am going to stay calm as I feel like something I thought could never happen to me actually happened!

I was nervous, but I think my desire for a baby outweighed it to be honest! Obviously I can't promise anything and everyone is different, but for the majority then if you didn't have problems getting pregnant before then fertility isn't overly affected and it is just a one off event. Fingers crossed for you. I remember how shocked and devastated I was immediately after mine.
