so This is our second month ttc after last months chemical, I got my first positive yesterday at 10dpo, tests slighter darker today at 11dpo.. but I’ve just been to the toilet and was brown when I wiped, had back cramps too today.. now I’m worried! Is it another chemical or is this normal or can it be implantation bleeding after getting a positive?

I don’t think you can tell for sure at this point ❤

Harriet1989 · 14/12/2024 20:34

Hey OP, I'm so sorry, it's such an anxious time.

It could be nothing - brown blood is old blood, but it might be the start of a chemical. Only time will tell. Cramps with red blood is when I knew for sure

Hope you're doing okay x

Stirrednshaken · 14/12/2024 20:47

I had a lot of blood (red and brown, filled a tampon in fifteen mins) at dpo 12 after testing positive and it stopped as fast as it started. Turns out it was probably a subchorionic hematoma. Baby is now 18 months old.

But I also had a chemical that started off more slowly with pale brown blood but got gradually heavier, rather than quickly stopping again.

Best of luck x

I spotted for 8 days at 4 weeks (started the day before my period was due). It was mostly brown but some pink, with cramps and heavy feeling. It started again at 8 weeks and lasted for 10 days. I'm now nearly 30 weeks! I know it can be alarming and of course isn't always a good outcome, but spotting can be a normal part of early pregnancy that lots of women experience. Hoping for the best for you xx

Done a test this morning I feel like it’s lighter than yesterday evenings, I did wake up for a wee around 2.30am so this technically is smu but now I’m scared AGAIN.. what a rollercoaster.. strip test is slightly darker but still really light. I’m 12dpo, I’ll attach photo of first responses let me know what you think

It does look slightly lighter but it's still an early test. Are you still spotting and cramping? That's probably the bigger indicator x

Hall24 · 15/12/2024 14:23

@Stirrednshaken have had a small bit of brown when wiping again x

I agree it does look slightly lighter at 12dpo than 11dpo. But there can be various factors that affect the concentration of hcg in your wee at this early stage, like when you last had one / how much you've drank. Are you planning to test today? Hoping it's strengthened a bit for you today if you are xx

Hall24 · 16/12/2024 09:31

@CosmicLove I don’t see much progression in the tests, planned to tell the other half tonight with a baby grow and clearblue pregnant but I don’t know what to make of the tests! I’m 13dpo today. First positive at 10dpo. And I feel like a clearblue wouldn’t pick it up and I only have one digital. So worried it’s another chemical. No more brown mucus anymore.. feel like strip test is slightly more visible this morning but still not as dark as I’d hope.

Hmmm it is a bit odd, I can see why you're hesitant. I would expect stronger tests by now, I can see why you're worried about a chemical x

Hall24 · 16/12/2024 15:08

I’m so confused… how come a digital ultra early with 10 sensitivity says not pregnant but all the other tests come up with a line even if it’s faint with lower sensitivity?

OP posts:
Hall24 · 16/12/2024 15:13

These ones are 20 sensitivity and ultra early clearblue 10 so why is this positive and digital isn’t arrrrrghh!x

Right I’m so confused right now I need you all to answer asap! So obviously I’ve been using mainly first repsonses and easy at home, I’ve only been getting faint lines on easy at home.. and I’ve just done two and it’s a blaring positive.. and I’ve just come to a realisation. I usually fill half a cup with wee to test on the previous ones.. however these two super positive ones I’ve just done was only a bit of wee because I didn’t need much.. do u think it’s all been because I’ve used way too much wee in cup.. I’ll show u comparison to a cup of urine I used earlier to urine I just used now

@CosmicLove @Harriet1989 @OrianaBanana @Stirrednshaken can you all please look at the above comment xx

A positive is a positive - easier said than done but try not to stress! Things will become clearer as time goes on x

Stirrednshaken · 16/12/2024 17:06

That's a strong positive on the easy at home! The amount of wee doesn't matter as long as you don't go over the maximum line so that shouldn't be an issue. I've found the digitals a bit crap to be honest but the easy at home ones haven't let me down so far (two babies and a chemical). It's so stressful, I get why you're confused. Has the spotting changed at all? If it's stopped and not turned red I think there's a good chance you're alright 🤞x

Hall24 · 16/12/2024 19:26

@Stirrednshaken no more spotting nope, I’ve done another easy at home and it’s back to faint positive again, I don’t understand what’s going on! x

Stirrednshaken · 16/12/2024 20:48

Just keep plodding along, one day at a time. Biology is a fucking minefield. X

Hall24 · 17/12/2024 10:12

ive not had any clear positives after those ones yesterday evening I don’t understand how I can get faint positive to blaring positive back to faint positive and then this morning hardly anything there. Obviously a chemical isn’t it but I just don’t understand the tests at all.

OP posts:
Mrsttcno1 · 17/12/2024 10:17

I know it’s easier said than done but I honestly think once you have a positive test, stop testing. Tests are not built to measure progression, a positive is a positive and when I was anxious in early pregnancy I was told “a positive test means you are pregnant until told otherwise, congratulations”, I’d give that same advice to you. It is so difficult when you’re in the thick of it but a positive is a positive, testing doesn’t change the outcome, you are pregnant until you know otherwise x

Harriet1989 · 17/12/2024 21:13

A random quick check only because it's the only time I've had a false positive.. not taken any night nurse?

CosmicLove · 20/12/2024 07:14

How are you doing OP? Hope all is okay xx

Hall24 · 20/12/2024 10:17

@CosmicLove bloods have confirmed the pregnancy has ended and I’m also now bleeding so second chemical in a row, really starting to think it’s because the ademyosis I have because I know it can cause issues if your uterus isn’t in great form and mine is bigger has tissue in the uterine wall. So really scared that it’s going to keep happening and there’s nothing I can do about it :(
