12dpo and BFN looking for hope that I can still get a BFP

Hey!
This cycle has been a strange one! I ovulated quite late (day 27!) and currently on day 39. No sign of AF and have tested negative.
My normal cycle is about 28/29 days - usually ovulate around day 16/17. So this cycle is so different from normal!
Has this happened to anyone else? Could I be pregnant but it not be showing up yet? Any insights would be great!
Thank you

Hi there,

I haven’t got much insights but in a similar situation. Have you got any symptoms of pregnancy or AF arriving? I have heard of people not testing positive until 13/14/15 dpo so you’re still in with a chance. What tests are you using?

I ovulated day 27/28 this cycle and usually ovulate day 21, I’m 9dpo and getting bfn.

@Sunflowersandmoons It’s so strange isn’t it! I don’t have any symptoms of AF coming. I’ve used clear blue and the easy at home ones so far. Just ordered the first response ones!

Sorry, but for me a BFN at 12dpo would be a pretty firm indication that AF is on her way. I have always had positives at 10 or 11dpo (including the cycle when I conceived around CD24). Trust me, I know how utterly hopeless those BFNs feel - I'm on cycle 37 now - but at 12dpo I always trust the test, as "it's too early" doesn't wash the day before AF 😔

I’m 10dpo today and thought I could see a vvvvv faint line last night, todays test is the same. I think I’m just getting my hopes up as usual 😢 would probably have progressed more today

@Sunflowersandmoons that test may have potential, particularly at 10dpo, which is super early to pick up on a cheapie strip test! Good luck!

Sunflowersandmoons · 13/12/2024 11:49

Thank you @curliegirlie glad I’m not seeing things although I’m not hopeful after a chemical in June where the lines never progressed to what they should have and thinking all was ok when the digitalis were saying pregnant. Nothing since and my ovulation seems to be getting later. I will keep some hope for this one, at least in a couple of days I’ll know 🥲

hope you’re doing ok @LD280686

No idea how many DPO I was when I first tested, but I didn't get my BFP until I was 6 days late!

LD280686 · 13/12/2024 11:59

@Sunflowersandmoons I think I can see the line on yours too!! Keeping everything crossed for you!

I haven’t tested today, I’m waiting until tomorrow - I’ll be 14dpo I think so that should definitely give me the answer one way or another!

@Didntask this gives me hope! Thank you!!

@LD280686 good luck for tomorrow, everything crossed for you!

@Sunflowersandmoons exactly, at 10dpo it's FAR FAR too early to make any predictions about what will happen to that line. You'll have a better idea of whether it's getting stronger in the next couple of days (try and get hold of some Boots tests too, as strip tests can take a while to show strong lines). I completely get where you're coming from. I had an early MC in March 2022 followed by a CP last November. Early warning signs for both were the persistent squinters on the cheapies. But at 10dpo it's a great sign that you've got anything on that!
