Hi all, i know nobody can tell me if I’ll definitely be pregnant but just looking for some positive stories as I’m approaching the dreaded 2 week wait and my minds gonna start over thinking. Has anyone got pregnant not on their ovulation day?

Me and my partner are hoping to conceive, we only see each other one week per month as it’s a long distance relationship at the moment but we’re very sexual people and have a lot of sex when we see each other. Hoping this month may be a success.

My estimated ovulation day is today (Monday) and according to my app my fertile days were last Thursday to this Monday. I’ve been staying at my partners since Thursday and we’ve been having continuous sex everyday, we have a lot of sex anyways and it’s not just because we want to conceive. On one of the days, I believe Friday, we did it 4 times and I was hoping my partner would save some energy for closer to today as it’s my supposed ovulation date however he’s now got a bit tired. I’ve heard the best days to get pregnant are the day before and day of ovulation. We managed to have sex once yesterday (estimated day before ovulation) but it was at 2am, not sure if we should’ve done it later on in the day. I’m hoping we can try again today but not feeling positive as my partners drained himself from us having a lot of sex the previous days and I’m gutted as I was hoping we could dtd each fertile day this month, especially the main day 😢 if we’re unable to go again today is there a reasonable chance I may still get pregnant as we’ve done it all of the 4 days before ovulation. Also if we aren’t able to dtd today then is it worth a shot trying again tomorrow, day after ovulation, as the app is just an estimate and we may still have a chance.

Sperm can live inside the reproduction tract for I believe 4-5 days so you're in with a good chance as long as his sperm quality is good, you've got your dates correct and there's no underlying health issues.

Get off your boyfriend and give the poor man a rest.

Random question, why are you having a baby with someone you only see one week a month? Are you going to move in together if you become pregnant or would baby live with you and him visiting once a month? So you'd be doing everything on your own

Please don't listen to anyone that says theres a "fertile window". There is no window you can literally get pregnant on any given day from when your period ends till the next one! I went to a private fertility specialist and when i was told this advice i got pregnant immediately the next month!! Don't limit yourself. If you view every day as a fertile day you WILL get pregnant ! Good luck!!

Sorry that’s completely biologically wrong. The only time you can get pregnant is from approx 5 days before you ovulate until 36 hours after. Obviously it’s good to have regular sex as you’ll definitely catch the fertile window and some people mid-identify when their fertile window is, but if someone only ever had sex the day after their period ended it’s highly unlikely they’d get pregnant unless they ovulated super early.

OP is the long distance thing temporary? If not do you not think it would be wise to sort that before TTC? You’re going to have a better chance if your partner is around more so you can do it regularly.

In the nicest way, I don't think you need to be DTD 4 times a day and getting tired. The sperm count won't have a chance to build up if you're doing it that often. DTD every day or every other day is recommended.

Personally, I stopped birth control and we DTD once per day on 2 days that were my most fertile according to the ClearBlue tests that I had and got pregnant in our first month of trying. I know I was lucky though as it often takes more than DTD a couple of times to get pregnant. I wish you good luck and try not to stress.

You really don’t need to DTD 4 times a day to get pregnant. That sounds really exhausting and inconvenient.

I have a 1.5 year old currently pregnant with my second and we just aim for 3 times a week from when my period ends. My DH would be a broken man if it was 4 times a day.

Thank you all for commenting. Me and my partner dtd 4 times last Friday but as I mentioned it wasn’t under pressure of trying to conceive we’re just genuinely very sexual people, as you can tell from us doing it 4 times in a day, my partner and I have a lot of sex regardless and he insisted he wanted to do it that many times I wasn’t nagging him to try and get me pregnant it just simply happened. Regardless of if we were trying to convince or not we still would’ve done it 4 times that day. Also currently long distance relationship but soon we’ll be moving closer to each other. Thank you all.

You would be better off pacing yourselves so that you're definitely having sex on the day of ovulation/24 hours after. That 24 hours is your best chance but you can conceive up to 5 days before.
