Query about clear blue digital & dtd. Might be a silly question….

Hi MN,

I have a query, it might be a silly question but I can’t find the answer. Do you dtd when your LH has dropped and your static smiley reverts to an ‘O’? Is it possible to conceive at this point?
My LH surge happened yesterday (Thursday) and was high in the morning and now has gone back to low.

Tues - flashing smiley dtd
Wednesday am - static smiley dtd
Thursday - static smiley dtd
today - was static but vanished as expected this morning.

My question is ….would it be advantageous to have sex tonight? We plan to but I’m just unsure of whether a woman is still fertile at this point? It will have been 36 after LH peak/surge.

thanks everyone x

Hi, not really sure on all the smiley face stuff because I don't use clear blue
But the opks just help to identify the surge of the hormone that initiates the release of the egg. The release can take from 24-36 hours after the surge has happened and then the egg can be alive for us to 12-24 hours after release. So potentially you have almost 60 hours at the most for fertilisation to occur.
So yes, if you had a positive ovulation test the day prior to having sex it is still advantageous.
