Anyone else starting their TWW?

OP posts:
ThatSnugSwan · 04/12/2024 20:23

Hi @FMc208 I got my peak yesterday and today have strong ovulation pains so tomorrow is my 1dpo
Ttc baby no.3 and its my 3rd cycle. I did have a loss in August. Really hoping for a nice Christmas postive test
Due AF on the 18th. Nice to keep each other company during the tww

Lillylight · 04/12/2024 20:45

Hello 👋. I’m in the TWW following a frozen embryo transfer. So far, so good. Acupuncture tomorrow and that always has a very calming effect on me. Hope everyone else is well.

KittyFantastica · 04/12/2024 21:35

Possibly. We're not really tracking as I gave birth prematurely in September and we've just had the all clear. We decided this will be our first month without contraception, but I didn't expect to ovulate until the weekend/next week. Pretty sure I'm ovulating today or tomorrow, just going by the signs and pains though.

Good luck everyone 🤍

FMc208 · 05/12/2024 08:17

Good morning all!

Thanks for the company. I’m 2dpo today, why does time go so slow in the TWW?!

@ThatSnugSwan sorry to hear about your loss. How old are your DC?

Intersting that ovulation pains seem to be so common, I never get them. This is my first month using OPKs so I’m just going by when I had my peak.

AF due the 19th apparently but I won’t be able to hold out til then to test!

OP posts:
ThatSnugSwan · 05/12/2024 09:27

@FMc208 I have a 8 year old and 6 year old. What age is yours?
I just posted a separate thread about my opks, wondering if you ladies have any advice. I got my opk peak on cd15 and Im sure on cd16 I ovulated because I had pains. But today cd17 it looks like its getting ready to get darker again. We have dtd so much this week that we are exhausted, should we keep going incase it peaks again and why would it be getting darker im so confused

Anyone just starting the TWW?
FMc208 · 05/12/2024 09:32

@ThatSnugSwan I have a 2 yr old DD!

I see what you mean about the tests. Personally I would test again later - it could be rising again or it could’ve just been a random spike in LH. Test again later on and if it’s still rising I’d probably gear up to DTD again! I know what you mean about being exhausted!

ThatSnugSwan · 05/12/2024 09:40

Yes Im thinking the same @FMc208 Its only my second cycle using these tests so its a mindfield really

Anonymousgirl2 · 05/12/2024 15:17

Hey I’m not on the tww yet I’ve had my peak today and awful pain in my left side, we’ve been trying for 22 months and got our first consultation with fertility doctors on the 18th all our tests so far as come back excellent with no explanation of why we arnt conceiving

Bubbamumma071023 · 05/12/2024 19:18

Hey, I’m in the tww too! 5dpo ttc no.2. The first one was IVF and we’re going for our next embryo transfer in January so it’s the last chance to happen naturally. Probably won’t happen but can’t help but keep the dream alive 😂 I’ve had mild cramps but know you can’t really symptom spot yet! Would be nice to have some solidarity in these next week though. Baby dust to you all! 🙏

ThatSnugSwan · 06/12/2024 09:25

2dpo today, hows everyone doing? I tested again with opk and I think yesterday morning was just a random spike but not a positive so still taking cd15 as my peak as it was darker than the control line. Hoping to try keep busy over the tww and not test too early, I became obsessed last cycle with testing and spent a fortune

KittyFantastica · 06/12/2024 10:30

I think I peaked around my husband's birthday a couple of days ago. Pretty early for me at day 11, if I did, I usually ovulate day 16.

I've got a progesterone test, I might do it a bit later. We're off on holiday tomorrow, so I'll be super busy. We weren't really tracking this month as it's the first one we've come off contraception since we lost our son at 19 weeks in September. I can't face OPKs and going all in. If I've ovulated then it's too late for that anyway. We dtd on hubs' birthday, so that will have to be enough.

Have you got plenty of plans to keep busy @ThatSnugSwan?

FMc208 · 06/12/2024 10:44

Good morning all!

@ThatSnugSwan That was strange to have a random spike, I am doing the same as you and keep testing everyday until it’s time for a pregnancy test (or period 😔)

@KittyFantastica so sorry to hear about your loss.

@Bubbamumma071023 how old is your first DC?

@Anonymousgirl2 fingers crossed for you!

Louki35 · 09/12/2024 23:43

ThatSnugSwan · 09/12/2024 23:48

@Louki35 no sign is a good sign 🤞😊
Sorry for your loss 🤍
I had a loss end of August so know the feeling its awful. Hopefully we get our bfps soon ☺️

FMc208 · 11/12/2024 09:17

I stupidly tested this morning at 8dpo, BFN obviously. Don’t know why I do it to myself!

OP posts:
ThatSnugSwan · 11/12/2024 10:27

@FMc208 Its so early so just dismiss that bfn, Implantation may not have happened yet. Im 7dpo and almost bought a test in tesco this morning then I talked myself out of it because Im afraid of the disappointment and I know its too early for anything to show. Wonder how long ill last 🙈

JustLetMeReadPlease · 12/12/2024 15:36

Hi everyone, I'm on the TWW with you all if you don't mind me joining the group!

I'm 7dpo trying to conceive #2 and had a miscarriage in October. I'm trying to stay positive, I'm 39 so I'm going into it with no expectations as I don't want to stress out and it to become a self fulfilling prophecy if you know what I mean?

Hope you're all doing okay? @FMc208 I know what you mean about getting itchy fingers to do a test... I have one sitting in my bedroom and I keep staring at it everyday🤣 it's getting harder and harder to resist it!

KittyFantastica · 12/12/2024 16:18

Hi all, just checking in. Our holiday is going well, I've been nice and distracted. When we get back to the hotel every evening, then I start to remember and wonder. With my first two pregnancies, I felt a very distinct tingling/prickling sensation deep in my uterus and had BFPs two days later (though both were early losses at 6 and 9 weeks). I didn't feel that sensation when I got pregnant with my son (we lost him at 19 weeks :(), but I did start to get hot flushes and needed lunchtime naps about three days before I got my BFP.

I must be around 7/8DPO today and I've felt absolutely nothing. No tingling, no hot flushes. No need for naps. I'm feeling a little down. We weren't tracking this month, but I was still hopeful.

ThatSnugSwan · 13/12/2024 09:41

9dpo and even though Im the one telling others its too early to test, I tested and bfn. Thought I might be one of the women who get a vfl on 9dpo but no. I have been pregnant 3 times one was a miscarriage and on all 3 times I had implantation bleeding so I feel like Im out if I dont get that
Ive so much stress at the minute with family issues and cried all day yesterday over a terrible accident that happened and I feel like any chance I had could be gone with all the upset and stress Im going through.

FMc208 · 13/12/2024 11:20

Hi all

Im 10dpo and BFN this morning. Think I’m out.

Sorry that others are feeling the same! It’s so hard not to let TTC take over your life isn’t it? :(

OP posts:
KittyFantastica · 13/12/2024 14:36

I'm sorry things have been stressful for you @ThatSnugSwan Are you alright? I hope no one was hurt in the accident 🤞 Stress is obviously bad for everyone, it I did actually ask my bereavement midwife is stress (caused by the grief of losing our baby boy in September and a few horrible family things afterwards) could prevent us from conceiving going forward, and she said no. She said obviously it's not great for anyone and can affect things like blood pressure and mental health, but she didn't think it could physically stop conception and implantation. It was her opinion though, so maybe there is science about it somewhere I haven't read!

@FMc208 I feel out too. I feel okay about it, and will at least be able to have soft cheese and snowballs over Christmas. I should still be pregnant with our little boy, and Christmas feels horrifically depressing already this year, so the expectations are low for the whole period.

ThatSnugSwan · 13/12/2024 23:32

@KittyFantastica Thank you for that, I will be ok just not right now. Im very sorry for your loss 🤍
My mind is not great right now but I find even scrolling on this threads is a great distraction. Im not gona test now till Monday ill be 12dpo

KittyFantastica · 14/12/2024 08:15

Sorry for all the typos. I find scrolling through the threads helps me too @ThatSnugSwan Sometimes distraction is the best thing.

I'm 9 or 10DPO and tested this morning. BFN, which I expected, so I know it's over for me this cycle. I know 9DPO is early, but I had a strong line at 9DPO when I got pregnant with my son. My two early losses didn't show up until 11/12DPO, but I had feelings in the days before that even then. This time, absolutely nothing. I'll be heading over to the January thread when AF arrives.
