Has anyone else fallen pregnant after taking morning after pill?

Hello

I’m pregnant after taking the morning after pill which I know delays ovulation but hasn’t worked. I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I bought it from the pharmacy but didn’t know that the copper iud/emergency coil was a different option that worked in a different way? Was this the case for you if you have or are in the same situation?

Thank you! X

Yes, I did. From my understanding, the morning after pill is only effective if you haven't already ovulated. So it may well be that you had already ovulated when you took the morning after pill. *note I am not mediperly trained and happy to be corrected if my knowledge is wrong.

Aw thank you for coming back to me. Nice to know I’m not alone. Did you know about the coil being an option? Xx

At the time, no. But I was much younger then. I think the coil works by stopping the fertilised egg from implanting but saying that I also got pregnant, twice(!) with the mirena coil in. One of those pregnancies is now 12, the other ended in miscarriage!

Yes I did. It doesn't work if you're already ovulating. I'm sorry you're in this situation X
