Period due today but not arrived - pregnancy vs LH tests

My period is due today (14DPO) but it hasn't arrived, I tested BFN 12DPO, I'm all out of pregnancy tests so thought I'd try an LH test as I've heard they can't distinguish between HcG and LH hormones and would show positive if pregnant, but the LH test is negative, is there any point in me going out to buy a pregnancy test or should I just wait it out a couple of days?

Just wait. I got a stronger line on LH tests than pregnancy tests so if that is negative then you are unlikely to see anything on a pregnancy test (assuming it's a LH strip test and not a flashing one).

I don’t think an LH result really means anything when testing for pregnancy. Some people do get positive opks when they are pregnant but some people also get an LH rise just before their period too (I had a blazing positive one cycle at 11dpo then AF came the next day..) so they are really not a reliable tool for pregnancy testing imo.

I fell pregnant in September, sadly miscarried at 8 weeks but at no point did I have a positive LH/OPK test even when my pregnancy test was blazing positive. I didn’t test until 2 days late for AF because the OPK was negative presuming I could no way be pregnant. I’m not sure why but OPKs only ever seem positive for me when I ovulate. I did have a very strong sense of smell the day before positive test, which prompted me to buy a HPT.

Thank you for your replies. I'm going to order a few tests from Amazon that way if it's negative or AF turns up later/tomorrow, I'll have some tests for next month anyway. I guess I can't really rely on the LH test strips to test for pregnancy.
