Disclaimer: everyone/every cycle is different!
I've been tracking ovulation with LH strips and logging DTD since we started TTC in late 2021. In that time I've been pregnant four times, unfortunately three miscarriages (plus a wonderful LO). However, that means I now have pretty good data on what timing is good for us and I thought it might be interesting to share and see what others think!
So of 14 cycles where we dtd in the three days up to ovulation (which I'm classing as the day after the LH peak), I've got pregnant on four of them making an overall success rate of 28%.
However in months where we have DTD three days before ovulation, I've got pregnant 0 out of 2; two days before 2 out of 6; one day before (ie day of LH surge) 3 out of 8; and day of, 3 out of 6 (50% of the time!). So for me it seems pretty clear that the day after the LH surge, ie probable date of ovulation, is the most important day to be getting busy, but to be safe making sure to DTD either of the day before or the day of the LH surge as well...
