So I have been told I need either IVIG treatment or a combination of prednisone and intralipids to treat immune issues.
I really cant afford IVIG so i told my consultant i will go with the pred and intralipids. He says i really need both as tests have shown that in my case the combination or tge IVUG alone should have roughly the same effect,
However, on reading up on the ingredients of intralipids it appears that they contain a minor amount of peanut oil and more than one sight I have looked at says you cant have them if you are allergic to peanuts which I, unfortunately am.
Just wondering if anybody else eith a nut allergy has had these infusions and been able to have it confirmed that the brand being used does not contain peanut oil
or if anyone advised to have both pred and intralipids had success on pred alone.

Following with interest, as I am allergic to peanuts and may have to have these as well, depending on what my forthcoming tests at the CRP Clinic come back with.

Your doctor should know what your allergic too and read that in your chart before prescribing medications and suppliments, id be talking to them about the possibility of you having an allergic reaction to something they give you. My daughter has a peanut allergy and there are some medications that say you cant take if you have these allergies. I have a dairy allergy and this is in my chart so my doctor has a general knowledge of supplements and so forth he can recommend, Im also allergic to latex and im advised that the packaging of one of my medications come in contain latex and there is a red sticker on these medications to let me know to handle with care and wash my hands. Also im allergic to endone so I have to have an alternative for pain meds.
