Please look at my graph - 1st month temping and confused!

Can anyone shed some light?
Premom has just moved my ovulation to earlier (it originally predicted today) based on my BBT. I'm using Clearblue digital tests only this month so I can't record them on the app! I got my static smiley on 12th November. I reckon I must have ovulated yesterday, 13th Nov, looking at this (and because of the peak on 12th Nov) but would you agree? The temperature dipping and rising before my peak is confusing though!

From what I’ve read I think ovulation is marked by the dip, then confirmed by your temp increasing, so looking at your graph I would guess maybe the 10th? 😊

What I find confusing though is that I had a LH peak (static smiley on Clearblue ovulation monitor) on the 12th. So it's very confusing!🫤

Hmm I’d go with your LH and smiley then as I find BBT so variable!! And also physical symptoms too. Looks like you’ll have covered it this month for sure! 🤞🏻

Unfortunately bbt and the apps dont mix well.

you’ll only really know when you ovulated once you’ve input all of your temps. The app will keep moving the ovulation date as soon as it sees a dip followed by three high temps.

your ovulation day is 10th based on this chart, but if you keep temping you should be able to work your ovulation date out by the new temps. Hopefully if it keeps rising from now your ovulation date will move back to 13/14.

also just FYI, I got peak on Wednesday night/Thursday morning and didn’t ovulate until the Saturday based off bbt so can take a couple days too!

It has indeed moved my ovulation day now, and temp is looking good.

For temping, if you need it again next month (hopefully you don’t), I found fertility friend better to visualise and it was always correct with my ovulation. I put in when I had the peak, days we dtd and the temps each morning. After three high temps it would say when I ovulated, which correlated with my peak.

I used Premom for the easy at home ovulation tests because that app was good for those. But otherwise fertility friend for my main tracking.

Sorry this may be really unhelpful but when I was TTC I packed in temping as it was unreliable for me

I focused on taking ovulation test strips twice a day, focusing on having sex when it looked like I was about to peak as I believe you're most fertile the day before ovulation of that gives you the best odds. Many of the TTC apps will let you scan your LH strips and give you an indication of where you are in your cycle but after a month of doing the strips you'll have a great idea of what a pre peak strip looks like for you,

I also checked cervical mucus and that was a reliable tell of when I was getting up to ovulation.

I just found temping stressful and didn't work for me

Have taken both your advice on board for next month, should i still need it! This was my first month using temping, but I used LH strips when trying for my first. I was lucky to fall that first month! Now this is my third cycle trying for my second, I thought I'd give temping a go (I've been using a mix of cheapy sticks and Clearblue digital too). I suppose it's just nice to see that I have actually ovulated this month.
