Potential APS diagnosis

I’ve had 2 miscarriages in the past year, and have been referred to Tommys miscarriage clinic.
As part of this, I have had blood tests done & my result has come back as abnormal for APS. According to Tommys website, I’d need another blood test 12 weeks after to confirm APS.
Has anyone had miscarriages then found out they had APS and gone on to have a successful pregnancy?

@Ncl31 the waiting is horrible when all you want to do is try again, we too had to wait after the first blood test.
When my consultant first thought I had it she said it is very treatable with injections

Yes ive spoken to a consultant I work with today and he said the vast majority of people deliver safely with treatment. You just have to be careful and sensible and plan most things, he said most people opt for a c-section as the bleeding risk is easier controlled etc…

How are you getting on @Ncl31 ?
I had my genetic test results back & the baby was genetically normal. So that’s a relief, but also upsetting & frustrating as they don’t know what caused the loss. So now they have said that seeing as I had the first abnormal APS result but normal second one, they want to treat me as though I may have APS. So next pregnancy on aspirin & herapin injections. Not sure how I feel about it all

Im So sorry you’re finding to all difficult. I have to admit my biggest fear was being told our baby was genetically normal. I found it easier to process knowing the reason, but equally devastated that there was an abnormality.
im pleased they’re being proactive for you though and coming up with a treatment plan.
im just very frustrated at the moment after being told not to try until we have all of the results back. I almost find it pointless, like surely if I fall pregnant in the meantime they can just treat me as if i am positive. Although, I do understand that could carry unnecessary risks potentially.

are you feeling up to trying again straight away?

@Ncl31 yeah I know what you mean, I think i might find it easier to process if I knew there was a chromosome issue (not a recurring issue but a one off bad luck thing) I also found out the gender, so the fact i know it was a viable baby is hard to get my head round.
I’m just a bit worried that I’m now being treated as though I have APS when I don’t know if I do have it. But I guess they wouldn’t put me on the treatment if there was a risk.
Which test results are you waiting on now? The waiting is so difficult when you want to just move forward.
We’re going to wait a month or so I think. I had a weird cycle with spotting so want to have another period, and I’m due my smear but have to wait 12 weeks post MC to have that

Yeah I get what you mean.
I need to have my APS bloods repeated so just waiting for that.
