Help, I Need talking sense to pls! DH and I completed our family years ago, youngest and we thought last kid is now 7.

We only DTD once this month on day 26 of my (regularish) 28 day cycle, without protection because we are obviously as my username suggests….

However!! Currently now on day 34 with no sign of my period?! How is this possible? Everything I’m reading says there’s no way I could have ovulated on CD26 - has this ever happened to anyone please??

Of course it has! You can ovulate any time, if your body wants to.

The rhythm method is complete BS then! Working today but DH getting a test to do later so we know one way or the other. We are both early/mid 40’s and thought this stage of our lives were over.

We tried so hard for our DC, I just feel really sad we now feel this way - I don’t know what we will do

In the most non-invasive way possible...

Sometimes it's still common to experience irregularity, especially sort of into your 40's - I'm only talking about what I've heard through family. Is it possible it's perimenopause? Irregularity in a period can be caused by hormone fluctuations, medications, stress, lifestyle etc. Whatever the outcome is, I hope it all works out for you Smile

Pregnancy is always possible if you have unprotected sex and don't know if you're ovulating but I think given the timeline and your age it's worth considering if this could be peri not pregnancy.

If you don't know when you ovulated then a test 21 days after the sex will be definitive, but you would likely get a positive beforehand if you are. Wait another four days and test then - if you ovulated CD26 that would then be 12DPO and pretty reliable!

Thanks everyone for your support today - thought I’d give an update in case anyone ends up in the same position!

Did a Pg test today, negative! We were very shocked but also didn’t trust it…until AF arrived this evening 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

It has certainly made us agree one of us is getting a vasectomy…
