Are opks required or is regular sex enough?

As per title!
if a couple is have sex every day or every other day from end of period around CD 7 and carries on having sex every day, nearly every day or every other do you think there is a need for ovulation tests or do you think you would fall pregnant eventually?

we usually do it every other day or sometimes 2 consecutive days with one day no sex before 2 consecutive again and we maintain this from cd 7ish up until period arrives. Roughly sex 4-5 times a week.

The human race has been around a smidge longer than OPKs (or even understanding of fertile windows) so I'm almost certain they're unnecessary to conceive.

Honestly, I had three DC more than 40 years ago and we just had sex when we fancied it. It's how the human race has survived!

Unless you’ve been trying for a long time just carry on with regular sex. If it’s every day or every other then you in theory shouldn’t need to test. If you want an idea of when you actually ovulate, or if you are ovulating at all (yes you can have a period without ovulation) then try them and see.

When we were first referred to a fertility specialist, before running any tests, she asked us if we were having sex regularly. When we said at least once every other day she said that was absolutely fine and that we shouldn't worry about ovulation kits as that would be the frequency they would advise and she believed regular sex between periods to be more effective for conception rather than just having sex during your fertile window.

We never bothered with OPKs or anything. I tracked my cycles on fertility friend and loosely tried to make sure we had sex every other day around the time in my cycle that ovulation was predicted - not the exact days as obviously it's just an estimate, but say for a 10 day period. It took 5 months to conceive DC1, 4 months DC2, 6 months DC3.

I know this was a daft question overall 😂😂 but you know the way I just had to ask 😂 you hear of people sometimes trying for a while then they use an ovulation test and it happens for them.

I think you're supposed to do it every other day then every day when you ovulate then every other day after that for good measure.

There's no need for OPKs unless it's taking you a while to get pregnant.
