Hi there, I’m wondering if anyone had this issue and gone on to get pregnant.
Every time I try to conceive, around 6-9 DPO I have crazy symptoms like cramping, pains, nausea sometimes, headaches, sore breasts. This time 3 days ago I had very sharp alternating abdomen pains. Today is 11 DPO and a few hours ago I noticed a tiny bit of clotting when I wiped and I think my period is starting (quite early and without the usual dull ache).
I’m getting worried as I think the egg is being fertilized or I wouldn’t be getting these symptoms. Btw I’ve never ever suffered from PMS symptoms and I still don’t during months of not TTC. I’m 42, had very recent normal pelvic ultrasound and have a good follicle count etc. All hormone tests are normal and progesterone tested well (doctor blood test) this month on cycle day 22.
Any insight/encouragement is really appreciated!
Thanks, K

I had four two week waits. One was zero symptoms (I also have no PMS really ever)

two of the TWW had so many symptoms (incl a nose bleed?!). I had so many symptoms and wrote them all down daily.

the fourth TWW was VERY different. I had alot less of these niggly little symptoms i was grasping on too. I ended up reading the symptoms I’ve had when I wasn’t pregnant and realised they were not symptoms at all they were just my cycle or my what I’d eaten or whatever but basically not pregnant. This fourth TWW I had period cramps at 6-7dpo - if it wasn’t so early I’d of expected my period to come. I also had a huge bbt spike at 9dpo and when I got my first postive pregnant test.

i always wondered what the symptoms were in previous months and wondered if it was the egg fighting off sperm or the sperm wasn’t good enough so the egg attacked it or just SOMETHING because I was doing everything right I couldn’t comprehend how I wasn’t pregnant. But the TWW where I was pregnant it was very very obvious. It was so different. I didn’t really need to question myself unlike the other months.

now, I tried EVERYTHING and I wonder if it was just timing. I lost our last baby at sixteen weeks and got pregnant 4/5 months after so wonder if those first three months my body was still traumatised. But the month I got pregnant the things I added was conceive plus lube and acupuncture. I also took new prenatals for six weeks.

but again, that’s in tandem with EVERYTHING ELSE, diet. Beet juice. Pomegranate. Keeping feet warm. Coq-10.

not sure if I answered your question!!! But just thought I’d share that I also had symptoms some months and wondered what it was!!

This cycle I had cramps at 6dpo that I was suspicious was implantation. I also had spotting at 6-9dpo. However at 9dpo I had a negative pregnancy test and my spotting got heavier. I then bled quite heavily for the next two days so I assumed I was having a chemical pregnancy as I was so sure I'd conceived to have started spotting so early.

I took another pregnancy test at 12dpo when I was still bleeding and it was positive. That was last Monday and since then my bleeding has stopped and the lines on my tests have got darker. I've found plenty of old posts where women have bled quite a bit at implantation so it seems it's uncommon but possible!

I know its frustrating but see how things go over the next few days. Test as much as you feel you need to get answers.

@CSSL7 @YorkshirePeridot thank you both for your replies. It really does give me hope! Or at least that it might happen in the future. I keep expecting blood to come flowing out but it hasn’t so far..: I’ll do a test in a couple of days.

CSSL - I wonder too what had been happening, like maybe it is just trying hard to implant and then our body just goes nope, not perfect this time, out you go. Or maybe I have been thinking my ovulation day is later than it was and my period is actually coming on time - but that doesn’t explain the out of ordinary symptoms. Wish we could know 😆
I also had a massive BBT spike on 8 DPO. I felt feverish but with no cold/cough so that’s a bit odd.
Thanks for the tips on food and supplements etc . I should get some beetroot juice and not heard about taking pomegranate. I have just been taking Proceive capsules and omega 3. I’ve heard acupuncture is good too…

YP - thanks, it’s great to hear from someone with actual experience of heavier bleeding and it not being your period (because as you prob know, most health articles tell you otherwise) and very happy for you that you got the positive test!

@Light42 I am also 42 and TTC. It’s a bit of a minefield isn’t it?
I am 7 days post ovulation and did a test today that has a faint positive. But. I feel sick to my core just like I did when I was pregnant with my son.

I am nervous to get too hopeful as everyone has said it’s too early to feel symptoms. So I am kind of assuming it will be a chemical pregnancy or early miscarriage.

I think if this doesn’t work and I miscarry I will stop trying and just be grateful for my son. I don’t think I can cope with all the unknowns and scary data you read about pregnancy over 42…

Hi there. I could have written this myself. I conceived in February and had cramps from 5dpo - 10dpo. Sadly I had a mc and have been trying again since and each month I have the same cramps around the same time but then bfn for 3 months now. It's so confusing because it feels like the implantation cramps I had when I did conceive. I thought I was going mad but now I'm reading your post I'm wondering if I do have a fertilised egg each month but it's just not implanting for some reason, perhaps to do with the lining?!
