Anyone who got pregnant when dtd before ovulation?

Hi, anyone who dtd 2,3 or more days before ovulation and got pregnant? And what did you have? 💗 💙 Thank you for all the responses in advance . 😊

I have 2 daughters.

I only know from my last two, can't remember as far back as my 15 and 17 year old to be honest! I'm pretty certain for my son it was on ovulation day and for my little girl last year (unfortunately lost her half way through the pregnancy) it was CD 12, 3 days before ovulation x

@bracemyselfagain ow wow so there is something true about that , when people say that a few days before ovulation lead to girls

It also seems that the theory worked for you. Your son on ovulation days a girl before.

I didn't track scientifically like some but I did notice with DD1 that the key dates were earlier than average for me. Certainly, the DTD that worked was b/c DH was going away for a few days and would miss what we thougth were the key dates. So we gave it the old college try on the last night.

So with DD2, we tried on day 2 or 3 post-period and were first-time lucky. DH was surprised but it confirned what I suspected about my system.
Somewhere I read that sperm for girl babies are more hardy and can linger in the right areas? (Sorry, forgot all the scientific terms for this). So if you're trying, girls are more likely before and after the obvious dates.

Yes! Currently 36 weeks pregnant with a girl, we DTD CD 9 & 10. First month in 2 years I didn’t bother testing for ovulation, we also only had sex those two times as I wasn’t too well that month. We had been trying for 2 years after a traumatic loss. Finally she is nearly here 🌈 💝

With dd we dtd the day after my period (took the risk of no protection cos thought it would be 'safe', not ttc but not really avoiding it iykwim), so day 7 of a 28-30 day cycle.
With both boys was definitely more midcycle but can't remember exactly.

Speem lives for 5 days apparently, so if you ovulate on day 14, you can get pregnant from day 9.

I have understood that X chromosome has longer life expectancy. We DTD day after I thought I had ovulated and we have a girl though.

@Olika yes that's what i read but it also depends on for how long the male sperms survive inside. I mean its 50% /50% 😀

With our son we dtd on ovulation day. I’m pregnant again now and we only dtd 2 days before ovulation this time. Currently 12 week and don’t know what it is yet but I strongly feel like it’s a boy. I was right guessing the first time.

Oh to add we were not aiming to try for a specific sex, the 2 days before was just the timing. I thought we would be out that month due to not DTD closer (even though I know it’s a 5-6 day window).

And I thought with my second baby that it's a girl too but it's a boy too 😀

@Sabina93 thankyou. I think we will try to find out at the 20 week scan.

The scan photo looks similar to my DS and the head shape is similar. My DH keeps saying it doesn’t mean anything, I guess it’s just a feeling.

With my second son i posted his scan on some sites and they were also saying it looks like a girl by his skull etc. and I've got a boy so I also think it's just a coincidence.
