Hollie257 · 04/10/2024 13:07

hi I had a MMC in October 2023 I have now been trying again and am on my 7th cycle and starting to loose hope, my periods have been abit all over the place ranging from 31-37 days long, I have been doing OPK’s and getting my peak each month- does anyone have any success stories for trying for their first baby after MMC and it taking a while….any advice appreciated! X

I don't have any advice but I'm currently on cycle 8 after a MMC and I'm also losing hope and would appreciate some success stories x

Taviton I’m so sorry to hear that is this your first baby? It’s so draining isn’t it don’t know what to do x

Sorry no help but just want success stories too! I had a late miscarriage Nov 23 and I am currently 8 months of trying and still nothing. Hopefully we all catch soon

Taviton · 04/10/2024 21:44

@Hollie257 yes I'm trying for my first. It's an awful situation isn't it. I'm thinking I'll wait until January and then get some fertility tests done and go from there x

moosey89 · 05/10/2024 14:59

No advice I'm afraid - after my 2 most recent MMCs it took 6 cycles and then 9 cycles to conceive again. I'm now on cycle 5 of trying again. Had 3 MMCs total but didn't try again after the first as my relationship with my then partner (now ex!) broke down off the back of it.

Sorry for your loss, I had a late miscarriage too in November 23 at 19 weeks, it was awful so I fully relate unfortunately 🙁 We've been trying again pretty much ever since, I did finally get pregnant again last month but it turned out to be a chemical which was very upsetting, I think more so due to my previous loss. Back to it again now and just praying it's 3rd time lucky for us soon 🙏

So sorry to hear this! It is nice to know someone has been through similar experience though as all I seem to read is people falling pregnant again quickly after miscarriage- the whole process is so draining xx

My advice would be to get your tubes flushed privately if you can

I know exactly what you mean! The hospital made it seem like I would just be pregnant straight away but that hasn’t been the case. It is so draining to have to start the process over xxx

I had a mmc in January, it was then really tough as I felt it affected our relationship. I thought we would never get there and we decided to take a break from trying last month..then found out I was pregnant a week ago when we had sex twice and definitely thought that was out of my fertile window, so it can happen even when you despair and lose hope. Xx

I tried for 2 years after my MC turned out my partner had extremely low sperm motility once we knew we were able to fix it relatively quickly and eventually fell pregnant with DD

How did you fix it if you don't mind me asking?

Snowdrops17 · 06/10/2024 18:38

@Pennyroses we basically did what they did in the video below but also he cut out all caffeine as he drank huge amounts of coffee and cut out alcohol as well. We also got rid of as much plastic as possible so lunch boxes for work we bought metal and the same with coffee cups.

Thankyou for sharing that, will watch it now. My partner has a low count, I have got pregnant twice now but unfortunately miscarried. Looking to do anything we can now to improve the chances of a successful pregnancy! 🤞

How long did you have to wait for tests on the NHS? Or did you go private xx

OP posts:
Snowdrops17 · 06/10/2024 19:21

@Hollie257 I'm in Ireland but we had tried for a year and then go referred us to a clinic it's all private here not like NHS. I also had a Hycosy so I don't know if that helped they said there was no blockage

Snowdrops17 · 06/10/2024 19:22

@Pennyroses I'm so sorry about your loses but I do personally think the sperm play a huge role in miscarriage there is more and more research to support that . It took my partner just under 3 months to fix his morphology x
