We have a policy which allows for time off for fertility treatment. Can't do the poll as on the app

We have a policy saying we get time off to go to fertility appointments and that we can go to a particular room if we need privacy to take medication/we can store it in a particular fridge. That’s all the same as for general medical needs though. We also have a policy on paid leave for miscarriages and baby loss.

I assume you mean time off for fertility appointments/ treatments? Mine doesnt, neither do they have a miscarriage policy. I had a stressful time trying to get time off when I had a miscarriage. Yet it seems they have every policy under the sun related to menopause! And I have pointed this out

Public sector - we dont have a separate policy but our special leave policy specifically has sections on time off for fertility treatment and leave following a miscarriage so I answered yes to your poll.

I believe so, but was brought in after I had done the baby thing, so I haven't paid any attention to the details. They extended paid maternity leave after I had mine too, which annoyed me no end!

Ohhh okay. No nothing but I have simply shown doctor appointments and said I need the time off, same as I would for any other doctor appointment, none of their business what the appointment is for or about.

Regarding a miscarriage, you can simply call in sick for that and state it is pregnancy related illness. They aren't allowed to count that into your sickness stats when totalling how many days you've had or penalise you for it etc. You can self sign for 7 days, get a GP note for any extra time after. You will only get SSP though unless your contract allows you more.

Then yes it’s additional paid days.

miscarriage is an 5 days full pay. It also says still birth but I thought that’s normally covered under maternity leave

ivf is 5 days paid leave for up to 3 cycles. I’m not sure if that’s in a calendar year or total, I think it’s annually
