Anyone else at the beginning of their long cycle?

This is my third cycle of TTC since my second trimester loss in May and my hormones are still sorting themselves out so my 2 cycles have been 38 and 36 days. These cycles are so long when trying to conceive and driving me mad, especially when others have nice 28 day cycles (I am just jealous as I used to have 28 day cycles before having my daughter in 2021😂).
I am cd4, anyone else at the beginning of their cycle? If my last 2 cycles are to go by I have at least 2 weeks until I ovulate again.

I’m in the same boat! My cycles can be 28 but mostly always 30+. I had a 2nd trimester last October, and returned to 28/30 cycle after 3 months but then developed a pesky polyp which needed to be removed in the summer, as caused daily bleeding for over 5 months!

currently on CD7 of our first opportunity to TTC since the loss, fingers crossed for us both! Xx

That should have said 2nd trimester loss 🤦🏻‍♀️

Me too - although I’m further along at CD18 but last cycle was 52 days, and one before that 70 days. This is following a partial molar in May. So I’ve no idea what’s in store for me this cycle

@Becks2019 what were your symptoms of your polyp? I was referred by my GP yesterday for an ultrasound to check for fibroids as I have been getting spotting after my period but I only get it in my follicular stage and the spotting disappears a few days before I ovulate. It isn't much spotting just the odd bit.
Did a progesterone baseline test today as I want to double check I am ovulating. I believe I am but wanna check.
@Figtree11 hopefully your cycle is shorter this time and you ovulate soon. Are you taking any supplements or doing anything particular to try to bring your ovulation forward?

@Mummysparrow I had consistent heavy bleeding for 6+ weeks with no break. Had to go private in the end for an ultrasound, and ended up having it removed by D&C. They think it was a result off the mc and was made up of clots etc

Hi lovely,

I experience really long, irregular cycles too and me and my partner are also on our 3rd cycle TTC after our early miscarriage at the beginning of the year. My cycles have always been anywhere between 36 - 50+ days long and it makes it sooo hard to work out ovulation etc.

This month I started taking pregnacare before conception supplements and this cycle I got a positive OPK on CD14 yesterday (instead of CD 36 last month). This is only my experience but for me I think they've helped regulate my cycle and make them shorter which when you're TTC is better than feeling like you're waiting weeks at a time! X

I had a MMC with twins and D&C at around 10 weeks in April, and am on around my 4th cycle of ttc since, on CD6 today. It took ages for my HCG levels to drop completely after the D&C as they were so high, so took around 8 weeks until I got a 2 day very light period and then another month until a proper one. I’m feeling a bit all over the place cycle-wise still. I think I’ve had a chemical since then as got a positive digital test in June but then immediately negatives after, but otherwise just feeling a bit hopeless. I have had the opposite problem with my cycles since the MMC as my luteal phase seems to be very short (around 10/11 days). So it’s ‘good’ that my cycles are only around 27 days long but frustrating that I don’t seem to make it past 10/11dpo most months, and usually start spotting around 8/9dpo. I have a 3 year old already but am 37 next month and really desperate to be pregnant again. I’m worried the D&C has messed up my chances so going for blood tests and a scan to check. Fingers crossed for us all this month!

@Mummysparrow no, just the usual folic acid, high strength vitamin D and omega 3. I feel less stressed & consumed by TTC this cycle so I hope that helps. I’ve also got a blood test booked & my appt at the miscarriage clinic coming up to focus on

@DevonDumpling31 thats interesting about pregnacare. I’d read about it lengthening people’s cycles so it had made me cautious of using different supplements. My last cycle was over 50 days. It’s ridiculously frustrating isn’t it

Yes, I'd read the same thing but tbh I thought considering my last cycle was 49 days it couldn't get much longer so thought it was worth a try 😂 Only downside is, I wasn't expecting my ovulation to come as early as it did and I think I just about caught it but who knows. Hopefully I'll be better prepared next cycle.

Mummysparrow · 26/09/2024 21:57

Cd6 and I am hoping my hormones are getting back to normal as I am feeling frisky now my period is over which I haven't felt the last few months. I can only hope. I am on holiday when I am cd15 so I would love to have a LH peak before I go away as we are sharing the bedroom with our daughter so no real opportunity to DTD whilst away.
Fingers crossed this cycle is better for us all
Are you taking any supplements @SummerC2024 some supplements make people's cycles longer so that could help extend your lutual phase. Healthy fats are supposed to help your hormones as well.
I had started looking into seed cycling as well to see if that helps

@Mummysparrow I’ve started taking the (very expensive) pregnacare ‘max’ pre-conception tablets and funnily enough my cycle was 28 days last month, not 26/27 (obviously was convinced I was pregnant and then hugely disappointed). The trouble is I find they make me feel quite sick, so I think I’m going to go back to the standard ones and see how it goes. Fingers crossed for an early ovulation day for you this month! When do you start testing? I usually start testing on day 10 and am predicted to ovulate around day 15/16 based on both digital and strip tests
