Clear blue evap/am I pregnant?

Hello

looking for opinions on the following.

23/8/24 was the first day of my last period.

I missed a pill sometime in the 2 weeks after my period, and had unprotected sex in the days leading up to this.

I also missed a 2nd pill a week later but had protected sex after that.

I am usually a 4 weekly cycle (although my cycle without a pill is usually 24-25 days)

my estimation is that I’m on day 31 of my cycle counting forward from the first day of my last period.

I’ve taken a million pregnancy tests, by 7 different brands, different sensitivities etc and aside from 3 out of the 7 clear blue ones I’ve had negative results.

im wondering if the 3x ‘positive’ clear blue could be evap as they were all negative with in the time frame. The line is blue but thin and was observed outside the time frame.

the first picture is from the same day

the 2nd picture was taken today from the same wee sample

I’ve got the symptoms of pregnancy (sore boobs/slightly bigger) and a bit of nausea.

but all the others are negative. What’s going on? Help needed, not actively looking to be pregnant.

im also bleeding but only lightly

The first picture the top / middle ones look positive to me. Also 2nd picture can see lines on them too. I'd get a fresh wee sample and another type of test maybe just a cheap duo pack with pink dye so you can see for definite? They are quite faint the lines and with the bleeding I'm not sure could it be a chemical🤔 maybe someone else can help too

Thank you!

I've done 20 tests in total, 3 of them (the clear blue) came up with those lines. The rest of them were all negative (pink dyes)

So confused!

Wondering if it could be the mini pill that's send hormones wild?

@Jp0311
I just saw another thread about evap lines actually and it looks like clear blues are bad for them so try to find that thread as there's pictures on it. I'm not sure you are pregnant or not now. The sore boobs could just be your hormones out of whack?!

@Jp0311
It's a bit over half way on the conception feed the one I was talking about starts with word 'clear blue'

PaperSheet · 23/09/2024 21:44

The two tests that show lines on the first/ left picture are evaps. The lines are too thin and a bit broken.
On the second/ right picture the top test looks more promising. But because all other tests have been negative I don't think it is.
All you can really do is wait. Don't use those tests. Use pink dye only.
Even the EPU im under for my miscarriage told me not to use clearblue tests.

Thank you guys, I really appreciate your comments.

I thought they looked like evap lines. The thirds one looks very thin when I shine a line under it and paler than the first two.

My boobs are a bit swollen, but actually they're not very sore at all now I've taken my bra offShock

I've always used clear blue (going back 7 years now) and never had these issues before....why would they even sell them in the shops? So stressful.

Just done a first response one again (spent a fortune over the last few days) and that's negative too....although it is late in the day.

Also I'm very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I hope you're ok.

Did EPU say why not to use them?

They didn't specify why but I'm pretty sure it was due to the evaps showing "false positives".

I've been needing to update them if my tests are getting lighter and when I said it was still slightly positive she immediately asked what type of test I was using. I said a pink test strip from amazon. She said "Good i was just checking you're not using clearblue as I was going to tell you not to."

Because I know what clearblue are like these days I didn't bother clarifying with her what her reasons were.

Jp0311 · 23/09/2024 21:56

Ah ok, that makes sense now.

Thank you very much for the input and explanations, greatly appreciated :)

Thin lines on clear blues are almost always evaps

Jp0311 · 24/09/2024 09:05

Update, I did 3 different tests this AM (pink dye, a first response digital and a clear and simple digital) and they were all negative.

Update, still negative tests this morning. Used a first response and easy@home test both were negative.

Wondering if I'm testing too early? I've got all the pregnancy symptoms (bigger/tender boobs, nausea, fatigue etc)

If the first day of my last period was 23/8, started mini pill same day, DTD on day 9, and missed a pill sometime in the 5 days after, and I'm on day 34 of the cycle now, would it be too early to test?

I can't figure this out.

@Jp0311
Iv no idea about the pills but if your last cycle was 23/8 then no it's not too early to test. Given you didn't take the pills correctly I'd assume you had no protection from them. Maybe you had an egg fertilised but it didn't implant delaying your period? ....Or your period could be late because of the hormones from the pill (most likely) either way if tests are negative then this confirms you aren't pregnant despite those symptoms - which can be brought on by overthinking and anxiety. I always do this and then when I'm busy the symptoms disappear 🤣.

Toiletrollwaspreciousincovidtimes · 26/09/2024 15:25

Op I can't see if you have given your age but from 45+i had pregnancy symptoms most months until I was 50!!

Jp0311 · 26/09/2024 16:40

Thank you.

I'm definitely an anxious person and I'm really worried that I am pregnant despite what I'm seeing in front my eyes.

I can't see how I am, but the other symptoms would suggest I am. Unless that's the pill (or lack of) causing issues

I guess I'll just keep testing.

My cycle is messed up anyway from being on the pill so it's really difficult to know. Google has said if I'm irregular to test 2 weeks after the deed so I'll wait until Sunday.

Also I'm 38 :)
