Private prescription for clomid?

Hello has anyone had any experience of getting a prescription either via the Gp or a private prescription for clomid? We had a miscarriage in December 2023 and have struggled to get pregnant since, any advice would be appreciated thank you!

Sorry to hear about that.

We saw a private specialist after 15 months of not falling pregnant, and he prescribed 3 months of clomid.
He also did a pelvic scan and HSG, which were normal.

I fell pregnant on 2nd month of using it.

It was very easy to organise, I just Googled local consultants and booked a same week appointment. Very smooth process.

Thanks very much for your reply, if you mind me asking, was that an expensive process? I have had blood work and the normal ultrasounds competed via my gp, so glad to hear that you fell pregnant on your second month 🌟

Following along as I'm also interested! On NHS waiting list for fertility referral but wait for consultation is so long and wondering if better to go private...

Sorry to hear that the wait is really long; did they say how long? Do you mind me asking how you got referred? My doctors haven’t even referred us yet

We didn't do any sort of referrals, just went private, and the consult was £200 and this included the prescription x

Posting as interested (but no experience)

Was that with the HSG and scan too? X

Yep of course. I went to the drs as I have PCOS who wanted to refer to fertility but partner also needed a sperm test. That took about two months to get an appt for. My referral was done via GP to fertility but there's a 6 month wait in my area so will likely be hearing back around Dec time x

@greentree16 As far as I recall the consult cost included the scan (it was done there and then in the consult room), but the HSG was separate and done in a clinic. I believe it was about £500.
