Hi everyone!
im 35 and desperate for a baby with my partner.
I had mentioned to my GP during an appointment over something unrelated, that my periods had become a little lighter in the last few months. Doctor didn’t sound worried but still said I should have an ultrasound to check everything is ok, as I have been ttc for six months with no success. I have been pregnant before 12 years ago when I had my son.
I went for the ultrasound yesterday and they said everything looked good mostly (no cysts or polyps or anything) but my endometrium was measuring a little thicker than normal. She told me it should be 16mm around ovulation so mine wasn’t a big difference but still, they have a cut off point for a reason.
I have now been referred for a further scan, to look at the measurements at a different time in my cycle, as the womb lining goes thicker and thinner depending on time of the month.
I don’t have any irregular bleeding or pain, and the scan looked otherwise healthy. I know there is a chance it could be the cancerous cells but they did tell me it’s unlikely if I have had no bleeding that’s abnormal and also your periods tend to be heavier rather than slightly lighter, which mine are.
I know it’s most likely a hormonal cause, but a month ago I had hormonal bloods done at the doctors and they told me they had come back normal. So now I’m confused. Are the hormonal bloods they do at first detailed enough or would they do more now?
mostly I am terrified I can’t get pregnant now. If my case needs treatment will it affect my chances of conceiving?! Please help!
