Doing a pregnancy test with first morning urine

I have to do a pregnancy test tomorrow following frozen embryo transfer and ideally with first morning urine, I sometimes get up early hours of the morning, would this be best to use or when I get up in the morning?

The best thing is to have the most concentrated urine possible, so do your calculations on when you will have the longest time without urinating.

@OliviaO Thank you, Will also make sure I don't drink too much through the night so that's it's not diluted.

I wouldn’t pee or drink overnight. Good luck!

How many DPT will you be tomorrow?

Rainbowsunshine81 · 11/09/2024 19:35

@YouveGotAFastCar I usually take water up to bed of a night, but won't tonight and will wait until the morning to use the toilet.
Thank you!

@LetstalkaboutBruno I had my transfer on the 31st of August, so makes me 12 days past transfer.

I wouldn’t worry, your test should be accurate with a first morning pee. Even if you got up a few hours beforehand to pass urine.

Best of luck! 🤞🏼

Don’t withhold fluids, it’s more important that you remain hydrated. At this stage, if you’re pregnant, that test will light up like a Christmas tree. Obviously, if your urine is super diluted and clear from lots of fluids, you’d be looking at a diluted results. If you pee overnight, test then! Or pee into a cup, then leave it to dip in the am 🙂

@LetstalkaboutBruno That's true, to stay hydrated. Have got some sterile pots to use, will keep one in the bathroom ready 🙂

Ooh congratulations OP, hope you are tentatively excited

Rainbowsunshine81 · 18/09/2024 21:19

@ThursdaysMonkey I have been a bit anxious since last night when I went to the toilet, there seemed to be slight spotting on the tissue paper, only on wiping and there has been a bit today. I spoke to my clinic and my consultant who advised me to rest and continue with my medication. I'm trying to remain as calm and positive as possible.
