Congratulations Bellie!!!!!!!!!!

This really is a sucessful thread!!

Sorry about the result Ceebee - I think penalties are so unfair - it just comes down to luck at the end of the day . I hate it when Man U fans get all smug - they will all be off out now to buy their doggy t-shirts and other tacky merchandise!

Oh well CD13 here for me. Still not trying nor using contraception iwswim. What will be will be.....

Right, who's testing next?????

Heartmum2Jamie · 22/05/2008 09:36

Oh wow Bellie, congratulations!! I am so happy for you!

Ceebee, sending hugs. Penalties is an awful way to decide who wins.

I think CE & HC are next to test. Fingers crossed for them both!

Heartmum2Jamie · 22/05/2008 09:39

oh opps! Meant to say I was stressing slightly this morning as have to take ds2 for hsi pre-school boosters . I hate seeing anyone inflict pain on my kids, even if it is for "the greater good". I am a bad mama too, we have no calpol or childrens nuerofen in the house, ds1 took the last drop for pain in his legs the other day.

Bellie · 22/05/2008 09:42

Thanks guys - I still can't beleive it!!

17 months and then a BFP. now I am completely panicking as had ectopic last time and had to have tube removed. Have an apointment with gp at 11 to hopefully get early scan booked.

CE - you must be testing next and HC arn't you?

due date - 29 January 2009!!

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2008 10:39

Ah yes, I am testing either tomorrow or Saturday at a ridiculously 10 or 11 DPO. Just can't help myself-it'll all end in tears, I know.

ChocEclair is further along in her cycle.

Off out to meet my friends.

We are going here:-

www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/europe/spain/majorca/sa-coma/apartments/protur-safari-apartments.html

I am more excited about it than this years' holiday which is less than 7 weeks away

Angel2008 · 22/05/2008 12:23

Hi all,

gp was wonderful, filled in the form for the early scan and gave to me to take to the hopsital rather than wait for the post so I have a 6 week scan booked for 6th June at 3.20pm. Can't believe it yet though and am in a state of grinning wildly and then having huge scary thoughts and imagining every tweak is a nasty one! still a week on holiday will pass the time nicely I suppose . There are no tablets for sea sickness, but am going to try the wrist ban thingies.

Willmouse - sounds like the new washer is fab and your holiday looks wonderful - can't believe that you are soooo organised!
I know what you mean about friends that just turn up - I like notice too. You are either going to have to get used to it if you are going to be working with her, or you will have to set some ground rule up before it gets too much!

HM2J - hope ds is ok after his boosters? Have you heard whether the fax has gone off yet?

HC - don't test too early [stern mjim emoticon] but if it helps you go for it

sorry not answered everyone - head a bit all over the place at the moment. Will check back in later!

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2008 14:02

Bellie-that is good news you got from your GP appointment and it really isn't that far away. Due date purlease????

My testing early is all for research you know-giving helpful advice to others and all that.

ChocEclair-actually we are both 9 DPO and I had a sharp rise in temp today which follows a bit of a dip a couple of days ago. Dips are good.

Have been out with my friends and eaten a days points in one go so feel full and huge and extremely nauseous. Knew I shouldn't have had bacon-saw the word written down and it turned my stomach. Like bacon normally but it was smothered in mayo.

Must hang some washing out. Love to all.

Great pics MJIM!! You look great, I just look HUGE! And your ds is just adorable, could munch him!

Good luck for testing HC & CE!! Everything crossed.

Not heard from the OB secretary or about the fax yet, but I did miss a call while was at the GP's with ds2. Will ring up BRUM to see if they have recieved it. As for ds2, he did GREAT! He didn't cry and then proceeded to yell at the nurse: "OUCH! That HURT!!" That's my boy, he makes me laugh!. I was given a prescription for paracetomol. Gave some to ds2 just over an hour ago as he was getting a little grumpy and said his arm hurt. About 30 minutes after that, I was clearing up and noticed the box the bottle came in said "over 6". Poor lad isn't even 4 yeat . I feel terrible that I might have given him a double dose thinking it was the younger stuff and overdosed him. Thankfully I only gave him 5ml, but it is the equivilant of giving 10ml of normal 2month+ calpol . What on earth could have happened if the same thing happened and it was the baby and not ds2??. I rang the GP's who said he won't come to any harm, but not to give him anymore of the double strength stuff and to pick up a new script for the younger child version. Seriously, I just attract the worst of the NHS it seems. . I almost never have to give pain meds to ds2, I honestly can't remember the last time I had to. Thankfully he is fine, even if he seems a little drunk, like he keeps repeating himself, lol! I think I will take him out in his pushchair in a bit and see if he will sleep it off.

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2008 14:25

Heartmum-that must have been a shock for you. At least the Docs have said he will be OK.

MJIM-loving the latest pics.

Hi

MJIM - your bump is huge! I think I was bigger second time around. Presumably your stomach muscles have already stretched once so just 'give in' second time around!! Your DS sounds like a budding genius - and what concentration skills to do a 60 piece jigsaw.

Can I ask everyone's opinion on this please:-

When I collected DS1 from nursery school today one of the little girls ran accross to me and said "look at William's mark on the carpet!" to which I said "pardon?" and she said " quick come and look, William has a mark on the carpet!". I walked over to the point she was showing me (which is where they do circle time) and I noticed a 'X' and the name WILLIAM chalked on the carpet. So I asked the little girl what it was for and she said "its to stop him getting up and playing with the toys at circle time". Am I being over sensitive or is that really bad ? One of the private nursery teachers (who take over at 11:30) just looked at me and said in an embaressed manner "oh it must be from the morning" - ie not them the school. Now I am not blind to the fact that he can be a bit of a bugger and probably is not impressed by circle time but isn't this singling him out a bit? He's only 4 FGS! I am now thinking all of the kids have probably gone home and said "mummy william has a mark on the carpet to sit on blah blah blah" as they obviously made a thing of it at the time. Sorry to go on but I am rather pissed off. What do the teachers think? Is this acceptable?

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2008 14:47

willmouse-would not be happy about the cross at all. I know my DD1 is a wild child but would never wish that to happen to her. A word in someones ear methinks.

Am v. of your holiday plans.

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhhhhhhh!!!! Woooo Hooooo!!!! Well done Bellie! I knew you were pregnant. I dreamt it last night! I have rushed home from work to get the news!!!!! I am sooooooo happy for you, you really do deserve it! YEY!!!!

ChocolateEclair · 22/05/2008 16:53

Willmouse - I would not be too happy either I think. There are other ways of getting him to sit that are much more positive e.g giving him a special job to, or sit him next to teacher. Cuold even have little rewards for children who sit properly and nicely for circle time. Hopefully they now know you aren't happy, if not I would mention it to them tomorrow. I would be keen to avoid him being labelled as the naughty one at such a young age (self fullfilling prophecy and all that). However, i am not primary trained so not sure if this is standard stuff, but I would be surprised! Hope you get it sorted.

MJIM - fab piccie! You are blooming nicely now! Seems to have grown a fair bit since your last pic and looks fab! ...and your ds is well cute!

HM2J - I cannot believe what has happened today . I would have been livid. It could have been so much more serious than it was. I suppose the main thing is he is ok, but you must be so stressed after the last few days. Not good for a pg lady. Would it be worth doing a full complaint about everything? or wuold this cause more stress?

HC - yes, I had a dip yesterday and a sharp rise today. Technically this is very promising, BUT not allowing myself to get excited!!! I will resist testing til wednesday definetly!!!! Hope you can hold off a little longer!!!!! ....I did take it easy in the rounders match I taught today.....not as much diving on floor etc as usual!!!! (just in case!)

ceebee - maybe bump will be a big footie fan if you watch a lot of footie and get excited about it! Hope you have recovered! I was thinking about you last night! (Ronaldo is such a cheater btw...he dived on floor clutching leg, when he got kicked on the other leg at one point!!!!

Also, I was thinking about trying to put together a list of stuff you should avoid eating while pg, would you all like to help? I know about:

runny eggs (and raw egg products)
unpasteurised milk and cheese
undercooked chicken
raw meat products eg pate

what have I missed????

Bellie · 22/05/2008 17:09

Ce - really you were dreaming of me - although I dreamt that I was pg and that's why I woke up this morning and tested!!

Willmouse - I would be about it too. I agree with CE not labelling children this early etc etc. definatley worth having a word tomorrow.

HM2J - too for you. Thank goodness that everything will be ok and no damage done. You really would think that as he isn't 4 yet he really should only have medicine for under 4's.

HC - fingers crossed for you - if your stomach is turning already!!

ceebee - hope you are feeling better after last night - bump will be a footie fan I would think!

CE - adding to your list
uncooked shellfish - ie prawns ok when hot but not cold.
unwashed bags of salad

MrsPuddleduck · 22/05/2008 17:13

ChocolateEclair - you have missed the most important one of all - ALCOHOL only most of us drink it anyway we just don't admit that we do on mumsnet.

You also need to add to your list the following items (depending on how anal you intend to be - we will let you off as it will be your first :-

Seafood
Tinned tuna
Caffine
Blue Cheese
Rare meat
Possibly peanuts
Homemade ice cream or mayonaise

ChocolateEclair · 22/05/2008 17:24

Oh I intend to be very anal (think Monica from friends anal and you're half way......!)

runny eggs (and raw egg products)
unpasteurised milk and cheese
undercooked chicken
raw meat products eg pate
uncooked shellfish - ie prawns ok when hot but not cold.
unwashed bags of salad
ALCOHOL
Seafood
Tinned tuna
Caffine
Blue Cheese
Rare meat
Possibly peanuts
Homemade ice cream or mayonaise

I had no idea about tinned tuna...I have this every day for luch!!! (with a bag ofunwashed salad!LOL!

and is it just peanuts or all nuts? What about Nutella???? I eat this every day too!!

Yes I really did dream about you!!! Also someone at work told me today she dreamt that I was pg last night (I have only told a few women at work that we are ttc)

mjim - hmm - dd will tidy but only when asked - usually when I can't see the floor or at the end of the day. Wow you have definately got a good one there!! He is even more scrummy in my eyes now

Slowly driving myself demented already - had lower back ache most of the afternoon and now I have convinced myself that this cannot be good - legs are also still aching like crazy. Obvioulsy I need to chill a bit more!

HumphreysCorner · 22/05/2008 19:17

DD1 will not tidy up despite being asked 1 million times and sat on the naughty mat. Takes an awful lot of shouting persuasion to get her to tidy. DD2 on the other hand puts everything away (at 23 months) without being asked. DD1 lets her tidy up for her which I am none too happy about. The girls are so different.
