Help!! Am I pregnant 2 weeks after miscarriage?

I had a D and C procedure on the 16th August due to a missed miscarriage (pregnancy was 13 weeks but baby’s heart stopped at just over 7) and had very minimal spotting after. I had a positive LH test on the 23rd and 26th I had put this down to hormone levels not a true ovulation. I had taken a pregnancy test on the 22nd to monitor HCG levels and they had dropped by then and had a positive but fading line and I then took another on the 28th and 30th (photos attached, the one on the packaging is the 28th and the one on the white paper is 30th). I know the line in the most recent is super faint however it’s not there but on the 28th? I then took an early response one (the non strip test) which has come back as positive but is this because it’s sensitive? I’m getting a lot of my symptoms I had in my first pregnancy back again over the last few days and these had previously gone. I have also been taking my vitamin hormone balancing supplements (I have been for the last 8 months) so not sure if this would start ovulation quicker? I know the chances of this being a new pregnancy is very slim but hoping someone else has had a similar experience or maybe knows when they ovulated after a miscarriage? I’ve found some story’s on here where people have got caught pregnant again 1 week after a miscarriage so it’s not impossible but not likely.

It's highly unlikely I'm afraid - it usually takes 1-3 weeks for HCG levels to drop (took me 2-3 weeks after all 3 of my surgeries to get a negative test). After this you still need to ovulate and allow 1-2 weeks for implantation, so 2 weeks really isn't long enough for the whole process. My period came back after 5-6 weeks each time post surgery.

Did you get a completely negative test after your d&c (got a bit confused by your original post and the sequence of pregnancy tests taken!).

@moosey89 you were right, the tests have come down since, I had bloods taken 2 days ago and they are at 15 3 weeks post surgery so I expect them to be 0 over the next few days. What typically happens next with cycles once you’ve tested negative? My GP has told me to expect AF next week but the EPAC said ovulation happens first then AF later so I’m confused with who to listen to!!

@moosey89 also when would be a good time to track ovulation accurately?

You'll typically ovulate about two weeks after your HCG hits 0 and, depending on the length of your luteal phase, get your period about two weeks after that.

@DreadPirateRobots thank you!! So would ovulation tests be accurate if I started using them from now or would I need to wait until the next cycle? I’ve seen a lot around it not being reliable until the second cycle but not sure what to go by

@TTC1265 it's tricky before your period comes back - of the 2 times I was actively tracking ovulation (started tests right after I got a negative pregnancy test), one time I didn't ovulate before my period came back, the other time it was a few days after that negative.

I am so sorry for your loss

Its always best to wait two full normal cycles before starting again
