10DPO AF 3 days late BFN

Hi Ladies

Looking to see if anyone has been or going through similar.

•Today I am 10DPO - Normally 28/29 day cycles
• LH PEAK was 15th Aug - Ovulation Pain for a few hours on 16th right sided.
• AF was due 23rd according to FLO.
• Today I am 3 days late - never normally late & BFN.
• 6DPO i saw some light bleeding when wiping only once with small amount of watery cm which I thought was early for IB

anyone else experienced this & gone on to have BFP or late AF?!

AF not due til thurs 29/Fri 30th. Are you sure you're late? You'd have a very short luteal phase if so x

Contrary to you, I don't consider myself to be late for my period at the moment.
My period should will arrive around 29 August I think
The luteal phase must last at least 10 days

Yes mines is normally 5/6 days

Did you ovulate later than normal this cycle? Or do you normally have a short luetal phase? I think 10 DPO is still a point where many won’t get a BFP, especially if you’re well hydrated, so perhaps test in a few days time if no AF. Good luck xx

You can have shorter luteal phase lol. Not everyones is the same.

I am a medical doctor and I can tell you, if you really have a 5-6 days luteal phase you MAY have a luteal phase defect. Please talk to your doctor.

@DS2019xx the other poster is right - if your luteal phase is less than 10 days it's worth checking with your doctor as it could be a sign of a luteal phase defect. Not saying it is, but if it is it can cause issues conceiving. Once you've ovulated, your body needs time for the embryo to implant (if it is fertilised) and this can take 6-12 days. Just wouldn't want you to be missing your chance to get pregnant if (and I do mean if!) you have a luteal phase issue x

@moosey89 Thanks so much for your reply. I am going to keep an eye onit and wait to see when AF arrives. I am going by what FLO is saying when AF was due, so again this could also be wrong.. pre mom says AF is due 27th. FLO says 23rd so a little but confused. I will speak to the Dr if AF doesn’t arrive in the next few days. Thanks x

Can I ask, do you take ovulation tests as well? It might be interesting to see if it matches up with your other symptoms if you don't already. The apps are useful but not always the most accurate unfortunately (which is why you might get different cycle info from different apps). X

I am the same. I was supposed to be on the 23rd. Had some intense cramping and my lower back hurt yesterday. But negative test today.

The screenshots you posted yourself say that a short luteal phase may mean a struggle to get pregnant. That is what @OliviaO was meaning. Yes, cycles will vary woman to woman, but a luteal phase of less than 10 is definitely something worth checking with your GP. Keep testing for pregnancy every 48 hours until you get a positive or AF arrives. Good luck x

AF arrived this morning.

In that case your luteal phase is 10dpo. At least it was this time.
