Early DPO - how early did you know?

Hello!

Since 4 DPO (I'm 8 DPO today) I have had a host of symptoms including nausea, increased thirst, excellent sense of smell and taste, food aversions, cramps, night sweats. Only the cramps are a normal PMS symptom for me, but they don't normally show up until a few days before my period is due.

Did anyone else have symptoms so early on? Did it lead to a BFP?

At 4dpo, the fertilised egg hasn’t even become a blastocyst yet - let alone implanted - and so any symptoms will purely be from rising progesterone after ovulation. It’s impossible for them to be as a result of anything else.

Once implantation happens - at the earliest 6dpo but more usually 7dpo/8dpo, it then takes 48 hours for HCG levels to rise to become very faintly visible on the pregnancy test. Only at this point could some symptoms start to be noticed that can be accounted for by early pregnancy.

I’m sorry OP, I’ve been in this boat too, but currently your symptoms are attributable to the natural rise in progesterone. Wishing you every success for a positive test in a few days’ time!

9DPO this time. 8DPO previously.

No symptoms that early, though, and knowing that early is REALLY difficult. It's more scary than exciting. Given my time again, I'd test a few days after my period was late. It's not as exciting and it'd require a lot of self control, but you'd avoid the pain of knowing about chemicals/worrying for weeks that nobody can do anything to help in.

Your symptoms will be down to something else at the moment, the egg hasn't become a blastocyte yet so there's no way that it could be causing pregnancy symptoms this early.

My fingers are crossed that you get a positive test!

I had cramping at 8 and 9 dpo which was very early for me but felt like period cramps. 10dpo I got my BFP in the evening but before that no symptoms. Only now, at 6 weeks, I’m starting to get nausea and tiredness.
Good luck

With my son, stillborn son at 22 weeks, i knew I was pregnant at 7 dpo because I felt implantation cramps, and two days later I had implantation bleeding.
Good luck

With dd2 I knew at around 8 or 9 dpo as I had the fizzy feeling in my nipples I always get when pregnant

Thanks everyone! I hope it turns out to be a pregnancy and not gut issues 🤢🤞
